Le Mont Sancerre - Case of 6

Sorry, this item is no longer available

Shimmering pale lemon colour with a bouquet of grapefruit with hints of dried grass, the first impression on the palate is one of richness and concentration.

Sancerre, like its near neighbour Pouilly produces some of the finest white wines of France. In the past its close proximity to the capital resulted in the Parisiens developing an insatiable appetite for this bone dry classic white and it has long been a favourite with British consumers too. Made with 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown in chalk, pebble and flinty soils in particularly good vineyard sites, Sancerre, Chavignon (near Monts Damnes) and d'Amigny, from where it derives its minerality.

Sadly Not!

No, I don't recommend this

Sancerre has a flinty mineral flavour that makes it a very distinctive wine. If you were blind tasting this, you would not think it was a sancerre - the flavour is indeed light, to the point of being missing! You can do much better at this price and below.
