10 Piece Pure Cotton Starter Set

Bought this starter set for my newborn in the 1month size as well as a newborn set of sleep suits from another brand I rate highly. Both were the best quality cotton I could find. Style: Tried both sets of sleep suits on him when he was born. I was prepared for him to grow into his clothes but the other brand looked so much baggier and floppier on him whereas these looked so much smarter. I think that is down to the style and good finish. The cotton is thick but soft and the really well made thick but soft seams make it look smart even on a 3.2kg (7pd) baby. I bought the unisex set with light gray print because we didn't know what we were having. They looked great on him, not sure if this colour would work well on a her. Fit: Nice that these are in newborn, 1month and 0-3 sizes as other brands only seem to have newborn and generic 0-3sizes. The smart cut hides the roominess of the suits. I expected him to outgrow the 1mth once he was over 4kg (9pds) as per the size guide. The sleep suits are only now snug and bodysuits are snug when clipped over his diapers. But he is now 6.5weeks and almost 5kgs (11pds). Quality: can't rate this highly enough. But that is typical of M and S clothes. His clothes have been intensively washed on extrawash, extra rinse cycles just in case he inherited his dads sensitive skin. They iron well but i find ironing any of his clothes fiddly. I now use a garment steamer with excellent results on these. I decided to write this review because while replacing his first set of clothes with 3mth sizes I noticed these and his other M and S multipack bodysuits still look brand new after at least 6 intensive washes! Value for money: the starter set was handy for my hospital bag as a first time nursing mum because it seemed to have the basics I thought I might need in one pack. I haven't got much use out of the booties and hats. He's outgrown the booties now and the hats were and still are too big. He's breastfed and only started drooling so the bibs are now handy and I now use the mittens on him with his sleeping bag at night. Not quite sure how to rate the value for money. Seems it could be slightly cheaper or I could have just bought the body and sleep suits separately. But it is very good quality and would keep well for subsequent babies if one wishes. It makes a lovely gift as a set and I also quite like the idea of the set as baby's first wardrobe. I'm storing his as keepsakes for him and I am sure that they will keep well.

Great starter pack. Bought for my sister as perfect for taking in hospital bag. Lovely quality.

This set is a very good money saver. It looks like very good quality and you get a lot in the set. Baby not arrived yet so not tried and tested but I'm sure they will be fine.

Bought this as a gift. Excellent value for money as it has everything needed for a starter set.
