Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks nice, but absolute rubbish Do not bother buying this product, as you will only end up returning it. I bought this in a medium (5'7, size 10, 36" hips) - it should have been a perfect fit. And it was, for about five minutes. But they very quickly started to slip down. Within twenty minutes I was having to scrape them back up from my knees and, two hours later, they were utterly unwearable. The hold-up part had stretched beyond recognition and the grip strips had given up the ghost. I've been wearing hold ups for years, and have pairs that are over a year old that I've never had issues with. But these M&S ones are utterly terrible, rubbish quality and a waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Found them and they're great I went looking for the standard 40denier holdups and found these newer 'Bodysensor ' ones in stock. I've become a bit of a convert to holdups over the summer and was looking for slightly warmer ones as the non-existent summer slips into autumn. These match the equivalent tights in finish and feel and I was delighted to find a colour option. There are 3 silicone bands at the top - as is implied by the picture - which give a secure grip without cutting off blood supply! As with other M&S hosiery, I find the large size is ideal for my 33" inside leg and the welt is stylish while being relatively unisex compared to the lace tops of other holdups. Superb again M&S.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent ++++ These are great, very comfortable and they really do stay in place. I do not understand other reviewers who state that after one wear they need to use suspenders. I can only think that they are taking them off and reusing them the next day without washing them. As we all know, our skin naturally sheds dry cells every day. These cells adhere to the stocking tops and so they will not hold up properly again until this is washed away. It isn't nasty or dirty - just every day life. Maybe M&S should explain this on their packaging! I hope this helps. I totally and without any reservation, recommend these stockings.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from the hold ups that don't hold! This is a real shame as the idea of thick black opaque hold ups is great. Tights are just so ungainly under anything that is remotely figure hugging so these would be the perfect solution. its a shame therefore that on the first wear, one of the stockings fell down after about 3 hours. Not good when at work! Had to take them off half way through the day which was a bit embarrassing, and very very cold! luckily had knee high boots on so not much of my bare white legs were on show, but when you spend this much on a pair of stockings you would expect to be able to have the confidence of them staying up - at least once!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from O K holdups but some reservations I'm not a great lover of tights and much prefer hold ups. It is difficult to get good opaque hold ups on the high street and even on the internet they are often extortionately priced. I was attracted to these because they seemed reasonably priced and have always had good experiences with M & S hold ups. Although, these stockings have a nice feel and are warm I found that the tops roll down slightly. These have 3 narrow silicone strips instead of the usual one or two found in other M & S stockings and the top strip tends to roll down. I haven't had any problems with them slipping down and so will continue to wear them. It would be nice to see them in other colours like blue or red instead of just black

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb opaques!!! I ordered these for my wife to wear this autumn/winter. I chose the damson colour for a welcome change to black - what a lovely colour they are!! My wife has worn these on two occasions now, once with a mid thigh dress and last night with a short M&S Pleated Ottoman Mini Skirt - because the hold ups sat firmly high on her thighs, no one was to know (apart from me) that it was hold ups that she was wearing!!! My wife wore her purple Autograph Thin Strap High Heel Shoes which complemented these superb/can't fault hold ups - a must have for this season!! ;-)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Full of holes after eight hours I wore a pair of these stockings to work, and by the time I got home there were multiple holes in the toes - after one day. I will be returning these for a refund, on principle. Not only disappointed, but amazed - I have M&S stockings which must be at least five years old and have been washed hundreds of times, and have only recently begun to look a bit worn! M&S really needs to watch its quality these days because customers will eventually lose their goodwill towards the brand. No eco-factory makes up for the fact that the product does not do the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Fantastic quality stockings, they are the type that actually stay up which is brilliant, they look beautiful on and even better with a pair of hight heels ;) Also they wash really well, no bobbles yet, as i have had with other stockings. I actually thought i had ripped them when i first put them on as the fabric inbetween the thick black lines is a series of little threads which move with you (really had to explain but you will know what i mean when you put them on) anyways there was no rips i just had to replace it on my leg straight. They are well worth the price, I am going to look at the other stockings they sell now as i will be buying again. also i just got standard delivery and it came in under 48 hours which was brilliant!
