Rated 3 out of 5 by from bring back the quality I have been buying M &S school shirts for many years ( oldest son 37 and youngest 16) however this year I was disappointed. The slim fit shirts I have bought over the last few years have been tailored with seams at back and front and a triangle piece at the side at the bottom so they looked smart whether worn tucked in or left out . This year they are just plain flat shirts which don't have a very good shape. Also the fabric is a lot thinner and even though they say easy iron they need a lot more ironing then the ones I still have from last year. I sent the 2nd packet of 3 I ordered back as I don't think these will wear as well as previous ones i have purchased.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Very disappointed, the style and fit are perfect for my son who is tall and lean but these are the second lot of packs I’ve bought and although the older pack he wore for a whole school year before the collars started puckering now the new pack after being washed twice has done the same. These aren’t the cheapest shirts around. Certainly some supermarkets offer better value but I like M&S as good fit and so I thought quality. Do I have time to take stuff back, no but not happy. Maybe I will try a cheaper alternative!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Skinny Fit - Not Slim - RETURNED Sadly I had to return these as they were too slim for my slim child. As others have said, I think the manufacturer must have changed as I've not had a problem with last years' order. I measured the new shirt (age 12-13) up against his last years' shirts (age 11-12) and they were exactly the same measurements, arms, neck, chest etc. Something to think about when ordering. The bigger size (13-14) fitted well in the body but the arms were too long. Others have said they appeared to be slightly grey - I did not find this at all. They were definitely white....and I'm very fussy with whites! Back to purchasing from supermarkets.......sorry M&S, I'll try you again next year!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from These WERE perfect...... Bought these last year for my son and they fitted perfectly. Now, after ordering again, I can only assume they are being made by a different manufacturer as the arms are thinner than before, I laid the old one flat and the new one on top and you could see the difference in the arm width, about 1cm. This is quite a big difference so they were returned and am having to source from elsewhere.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sizing is wrong Bought size 7-8y, but they were the same size as the 6-7y M&S shirts I was replacing. Have generally found the M&S school range quality to have dropped year-on-year. Quality control seems to be lacking. Might as well try the supermarkets from now on.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor colour These shirts are not very white in colour! They look more greyish white I’m afraid. Got same shirts last year and they’re still looking great even after washing for a year. So slightly disappointed with these new ones. Even my son noticed it straight away. Marks and Spencer’s have probably changed supplier!! Not good for us busy mums

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Small Fit Slim Fit 7-8 year old shirt returned as no bigger than last year's 6-7 slim fit shirt. Disappointed quality of cotton not great either

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tight sleeves Have had these shirt before but in a smaller size and they were great. Not sure if they have change style slightly but sleeve are so tight when my son bends his arms. Going to try and return them.
