Lots of us will be swapping far-flung tropical destinations for a charming local beach or lake this year – but that doesn’t mean compromising on fun. Embrace traditional seaside cheer with a cute striped dress (that doubles up as a beach cover-up) and sunshine-yellow sweater, perfect to wear with casual pants. If you’re blessed with hot weather, a printed bikini or swimsuit is a beach essential, but make sure you have a layer for breezier days, too – a classic denim jacket will do the trick. What to pack for a camping trip
When it comes to camping, it’s all about layers – pop on a printed tee with a denim jacket and waterproof coat and you’ve got the right balance of playfulness and practicality. Hardwearing denim shorts and light, breathable chinos are both a great choice, as is a backpack you can fling into the corner of the tent without half your possessions falling out. Depending on the weather forecast, your footwear of choice could be anything from rain boots to white sneakers – and make sure you pack extra socks for cold toes at night.
