THE TREND GUIDE

YOUR NEW-SEASON PREVIEW

Discover the five easy trends to try this season, from wear-on-repeat dresses to luxe leather skirts. Your spring closet refresh starts here

Tropical deluxe

Thanks to Jennifer Lopez and that dress on the Versace catwalk, exotic prints are in demand right now. But you don’t have to be a runway regular to tap into the trend; keep things simple by investing in work-to-weekend tops, floaty midi dresses and eye-catching accessories. A breezy button-down from our new Per Una collection will earn its keep during the warmer months.

Go hell for leather

Leather proved itself as a spring-summer staple on the international catwalks. Our tip is to invest in versatile hues such as tan, burgundy and chocolate brown to get the most mileage out of the trend. For a chic workwear look, try a sleek pencil skirt paired with cosy knitwear. Come summer, swap in a floral blouse and block-heel sandals, as seen on the catwalks at Givenchy.

Full-on florals

Floral prints are a never out of fashion, but this season Marni, Marc Jacobs and Richard Quinn upped the ante with a ‘more is more’ approach. Think voluminous puff sleeves, frou-frou layers and sweetheart necklines. For a real-life look that still packs a punch, try a floral jumpsuit paired with crisp white sneakers, or a retro-inspired mini dress with cream ankle boots as seen on British TV star Holly Willoughby.

Hoods up

Reflecting fashion’s enduring obsession with leisurewear, the layered hoodie look is plucked directly from Fashion Month’s street style stars. Influencers may flock to Sandy Liang and Alexander Wang for their sports-luxe separates, but you can recreate the look for the school run with our ultra-wearable options too. Take your pick from designs made of recycled polyester or plush, 100% cashmere styles. With weeks of cold weather ahead, this is a styling hack to master now.

Denim for days

As seen at Khaite and Celine, Seventies-era denim is key this season. A pair of high-waisted wide-leg jeans is your best buy: not only are they flattering on all figures, they also look good with every outfit combination. Team them with a skinny-rib polo neck and leather loafers for day, and dress up with a feminine blouse for evening. Similarly, a flattering A-line denim skirt will add a subtle statement to your working wardrobe, and look great with tan sandals come summer.
