About this style
These wool rich school trousers are perfect for the whole school year. To make life easier for you we've added our clever Supercrease™ technology, which means the central trouser crease stays put wash after wash, and our Stormwear™ innovation repels water. An elasticated waist allows for growth and promises extra comfort. Our crease resistant technology stops clothes from creasing during wear and ensures creases fall out more easily. Our Adjust-A-Hem technology means you can adjust these trousers with just a pair of scissors and an iron.

Not for the tall and slim
No, I don't recommend this
I tried 2 different sizes for my grandson. Although the fabric quality is excellent we could not keep these trousers in either size. He is tall for his age and very slim. These might suit a child with a stouter build.

Great pair of trousers, fit true to size. Love the changeable waist and the hems that can be altered - although whether I will ever do this - I don't know!

Twins trousers!
Yes, I recommend this
Being the grandmother of twin boys I am very aware of how much it costs for their clothes. The boys are due to start school soon and as 4 prs. of trousers were required the above trousers (in the sale) were excellent value and the quality was superb. I will certainly keep my eye open for the next size in the next sale!

New troos

We recently bought a pair of shorts where the elastic adjustment had a kind of soft 'placket' over the button. I think this would be an excellent idea for these trousers as LO finds the buttons so uncomfortable. I was desperately trying to find a product with little chemical additives, or Teflon... and these are the only ones I could find without Teflon. However the wool is not finished particularly well... I expected suiting fabric, but they seem a lower quality, scratchier version.

A smart well fitting school trouser.
Yes, I recommend this
I struggle to find trousers that fit nicely on my son who is very tall for his age but these trousers are perfect. Most school trousers hang around the bottom or give a bugle at the front, these trousers however allow you to adjust the waist and the Length with a hidden seam that can be brought down to give more length. The grey is the standard grey colour that you get. The material isn't as smooth as some others but given a wash or 2 it's perfect. The fit is what really sells this trouser, it doesn't hang off the bum it sits smart and fits the way trousers should. Please don't be put off by other reviews I've tried a few of m&s trousers and these are by far the best for withstanding playground games and the occasional fall.

Awful

Dreadful material, itchy, scratchy, my son hated wearing them, such a waste of money !

boys wool trousers
No, I don't recommend this
the fabric was too rough, my son could not get them off quick enough as he said they 'felt scratchy' This is a shame as they are a perfect fit and he does not want to wear the slim fit school trousers, the leg width is much more comfortable for every day school wear than a straight fitted leg.

Scratchy trousers
No, I don't recommend this
I am undecided on these trousers. They look quite smart but after one wear my son complained that they were scratchy which he hadn't done with previous, different trousers from M&S. I am hoping a wash will sort them out. I find the size of school trousers huge. My son at 4.5 years (and admittedly not tall but he doesn't stand out as minute) is wearing size 2-3 years.

Boys wool rich super crease trousers
No, I don't recommend this
The trousers fitted well but my son fell in the playground at school and this resulted in a large hole in the knee of the trousers. I have never had this problem before with any school trousers as boys being boys suffer many falls. I have now had to discard the trouser as the hole was too large to repair.

The grey colour was strange, too light and the fabric is very thin. I plan to return them. Not up to the usual M&S standard, very disappointed.

Very disappointed
No, I don't recommend this
Do not buy! I bought two pairs, one for my 5year old and one for my 8 year old. Both now have unrepairable holes in knees. My 5 year old's trousers only lasted two weeks! They are a bit itchy, no lining and material is too thin. Oh and on one pair the adjustable hem came unravelled within weeks. Awful!

Good quality trousers for school
Yes, I recommend this
Lovely good quality trousers. Are a little bit pricey than most trousers but hang very well on my skinny son and last several terms.

Wool rich but itchy
No, I don't recommend this
I've bought many pairs of wool rich trousers from M&S and they have been excellent. These however are different and I would say inferior. My son won't wear them and says they are itchy. I have washed several times and put through tumble dryer but they are just the same. I don't think M&S do any other wool rich school trousers so I will have to look at other makes. This is a shame as my son is only 5 and has many school years ahead of him. Bring back the styles I bought in 2013 as they are much better please.

Never again
No, I don't recommend this
Always buy my grandson school trousers from M&S, but these were the 1st wool blend - never again - fell over first time he wore them and they now need a patch (has fallen over before in other M&S school trousers without them going into a hole!!).

Poor quality
No, I don't recommend this
I bought three pairs of these trousers for the autumn term, all three pairs had worn a hole in the knee by December, extremely disappointed as I've always bought the wool blend m&s due to the lasting quality and look. These are now much thinner and therefore 3 pairs haven't lasted even a term!
