school wool trousers
Yes, I recommend this
My son is now in secondary school and these trousers are the wrong colour. While he was in primary school I bought them but I am so disappointed that it is impossible to get wool trousers in charcoal grey anywhere. Please can you extend your choice of colours?

Great

I have no idea why lots of mum complain about these trousers. Since my three boys started school I only buy wool rich trousers for them from M&S. My sons spend a lot of time in school, therefore their clothes and shoes must be as good quality and made of natural fabrics/materials, even if it is difficult to afford to buy. Polyester fabric made of oil, viscose made of wood, wool is wool. It protects my boys skin when it is really chilly and keeps them cool in warm days. I was really happy once discovered M&S this years started to sell its trousers with 60% wool as the previous 2-3 years percentage of natural wool in sold trousers was really low. Would like to add, these trousers do not lose their smart look unlike to synthetic made trousers, and despite slightly higher price, they are worth every penny.

Good Fabric, Slightly Baggy cut!
Yes, I recommend this
Bought six pairs of these trousers for my teenage Grandson. I guess because he normally wears 'skinny jeans' as he is really tall and slim, these school trousers appear to have far too much fabric around the hip area. Thank goodness for the adjustable waist or I think they would fall down otherwise! Needed the age 15-16yrs size to gain the correct leg length but Grandson is only 13yrs. Will keep an eye out for a slimmer cut version but the ones I have already purchased will be OK for a while. Nice fabric, comfortable deep waistband.

Best fit

My 15 year old son says these are the best fit school trousers he has ever had! We always but M& S trousers but best ones by far!

School Trousers
No, I don't recommend this
The material was a let down (doesn't feel "Rich Wool") more like cotton! and the length of the trousers came up a bit short, even though my son is 6.2". I think for £18.00 the quality of the material and style (i.e. back pocket) was a bit of a let down and I don't think value for money. I know I can get better trousers for much less elsewhere!

Quality & Readonably Priced
Yes, I recommend this
I have twin boys who are very tall and slim for their age so last year I bought 8 pairs of 13-14 years and this year I bought 8 pairs of 14-15 years (they're 13 and in S2). M&S dark grey Primary school trousers are quality and when my boys started high school last year I wanted the same standard of trousers. These wool rich adjustable trousers are the best M&S have to offer in the school uniform range before paying a lot more for adult trousers!!! These trousers do tend to bobble after about 30 washes (shave with a disposable razor to take the bobbles away) but this year I plan to wash them inside out! When my boys grew taller around Easter time I had to let their trouser hems down and was delighted to find that the trousers have a second hem underneath - thank you M&S for this! My boys both have sensitive skin and as long as I wash their clothes first they've no complaints about itching.

My Son Loves These... Now
Yes, I recommend this
My son felt these trousers were itchy at first but after a few washes they became softer and are now his favourite pair. They are warm and a decent replacement for the lined trousers I had bought in previous years but can no longer find at M&S. My son is on the slim side and we do have to pull the adjustable waist band to its narrowest to make them fit, but this is true of all his trousers so that's not a problem. Not an upset shopper for this item (but can't change the pen name...).

Far too Itchy
No, I don't recommend this
Have had your wool blend school trousers previously and they were fine but when these were tried on my grandson said that they were so itchy he had to take them off immediately. I note that his previous trousers were a blend of 45% wool and 55% polyester but these present ones are a mixture of 60%wool and 40% polyester. Not good enough for your more expensive trousers.

Bought 4 pairs for start of term. Far too itchy!

My son has come home from school everyday since he started in a foul mood. He says he has been scratching like a dog all day. I have returned 2 pairs today. The other 2 pairs I bought have been worn and washed several times in sensitive skin liquid and fabric softener and he is still very uncomfortable. I would never buy these again.

Good m&s quality but.........
No, I don't recommend this
I always like to buy the school clothes from m&s because they wash and ware well, but these pants were way too small. I ordered the 36 waist for my 15 yr old 6'3 son but they would not go near. I now find I have to buy 36 waist in the men's section but sadly I find these too expensive for school and have had to go elsewhere for men's black trousers for £20

I buy the wool content trousers for my son as I think they last really well.........however this year the sizes are waaaayy out, infact the whole fit is way off. They were massive not a bit roomy huge in both length and waist. Returned for refund, very disappointed.
