Seghesio Sonoma County Zinfandel - Single Bottle

Sorry, this item is no longer available

A lush and concentrated Zinfandel bursting with bold berry and spice flavours over an opulently smooth palate.

The astonishing concentration that Seghesio Family Vineyards achieve in their wines can be attributed to the age of the vineyards, some of which date as far back as 1895. Italian consultant Alberto Antonini has assisted in improving the quality of the estate’s vines, and his influence can be seen in this ripe, juicy style of Zinfandel. 2014 was one of the warmest seasons on record in northern California, with an early harvest that was undertaken very quickly. Grapes were primarily sourced from Seghesio’s Home Ranch, River Road, Lone Oak and San Lorenzo vineyards in Alexander Valley, plus the Cortina vineyard in Dry Creek Valley. In the winery the must was divided into three parts, with each portion vinified differently. Afterwards, the blended wine was aged for nine months: 57% in American oak, 31% in French oak and 12% in Hungarian oak barrels.
