Pure Cotton Trench Coat with Stormwear™

I asked for this coat for my birthday, and when I wore it for the first time I would have to admit it was hard to walk in. As its long and very stiff. I am 5 ft 5 1/2. But I do love the style. I got this coat in spring, so it became too warm to wear it soon afterwards but I am looking forward to wearing it again in Autumn. It looks really stylish with jeans or any other trousers. It can really make an outfit standout. I would definitely call it a statement piece. However like I said it was hard to walk in as it doesn't flow and as I'm not tall it kept getting caught in legs when I walked. But I do love the coat its just not one I could rush around in.

I loved the look of this coat on the website, especially the colour. On receiving (as per other reviews), the material reminds me exactly of the lab coats you used to wear in science class, very hard and unforgiving. Its slightly oversized style also. If the material was like a normal trench coat it would be beautiful. Unfortunately, returned due to weird, lab coat material.

So disappointed. I love trench coats and they're really hard to find. This looks great, love the style, colour, happy with loose fit - im size 12 5'9". Material is stiff and I think that's the problem - sounds ridiculous but it's a real problem walking anywhere in this coat. Not fluid at all, really restrictive and the material keeps wrapping around my legs, even if I have the coat open and unbelted. I don't know whether a back vent might have helped. I just wish I'd walked around the store a bit or at home, I'd never have kept it had I known. My only hope is that the fabric eases over time but not sure I'm prepared to wear it enough for that to happen. Never posted a review before, really interested in what M&S has to say but don't know if they respond to reviews.

I liked the look of this in the pictures online, but it didn't really suit me, and I thought the material was a bit too coarse and thick, it may have been better to have a thinner material which was lined. The colour wasn't right on me - but it may well suit others. It kind of felt more like a fashion article than something functional, as it didn't fasten, and was unlined. I returned it. Its quite long, (I am 5'7,) and it is true to size, or being slightly oversized as the description.

I'm delighted with this coat, just what I was looking for. Stylish, fashionable, great quality, colour, cut and price. It's meant to be oversized with a bit of structure. I'm a 12/14 and went for size 12. It is generous to those with large upper arms. I'm only 5' 3 and I'm happy with the length on me - it's meant to be long. I love the fabric, I'm not an expert in fabric terms but a dense/slightly textured cotton twill? A gaberdine with texture? Anyway in my view more clothes like this would bring me right back to the M&S fold!! Improved online presentation/photos/video and descriptions would help sales!
