No, I don't recommend this
Lovely pinafore high quality cotton. I got it half price which is great. The only trouble is the fitting quite small. My lil girl is nearly 5 so I got 5-6 size so somehow she could still wear it next year. My lil girl is a good size for her age and I don't have problem most of the time when I get 5-6 size. I was surprised that the dress is short and quite small. M&S pls sort your childrens sizing. Thanks.

The dress is lovely, made from very soft and good quality material. A bit pricey but I bought if on sale so can't complain really. There are two buttons that very easy can be done up for those little fingers. And my daughter loves two little pockets in front.

I had to write a review after seeing the other comments. I really love this uniform, it's cotton which is great and has a really good fit. And my little one thinks it's super comfortable. I haven't found it to be short at all or any sewing coming loose even after many washes and wears, it's been 3 months. I bought size 4-5 and that fits perfect now. But will buy a size up for the coming term. Please continue this dress M&S, it's not easy to find sweet 100% cotton dresses for our little ones!

Extremely short in length

Loved this dress to begin with, as it was a lovely soft material with pockets and my daughter loved it. However it is way too short for a young girl's uniform and I'm now going to have to buy some more/ different and longer pinafores for the next term, as the pinafore is just too short to wear for school. Would not recommend this.

Flawed Stitching poor quality

Love the style of this pinafore and my daughter says she loves how comfortable it is. Unfortunately I had to return one after only a few days of wear as the top was becoming unstitched from the skirt section. I replaced it with another the same style hoping it was a one off problem however the replacement dress is experiencing the same poor stitching and is also coming away- meaning another trip back to store. Disappointed and wouldnt recommend.

I bought the 7-8 for my tall 5 year old and it was above her knee. Going to swap it for the 8-9 as she loves the style of it and that it is so soft.

Very short dress!

Like a previous reviewer I have a tall(ish) slim 7 year old and ordered this in a 7-8. It didn't look much different in length to last year's 6-7 pinafores but she liked it so I kept it. It's a lovely soft fabric and comfortable to wear, but is already looking too short. I think it might have even shrunk slightly in the wash. I would definitely recommend sizing up.

I have a slim but slightly-taller-than-average 7 year old. Age 6-7 in M&S seems to fit well at the moment, we still have 5-6 long length skirts to start the school year with. I thought these softer bib pinafores would make a nice change to the more structured ones but as I was unsure of sizes I bought 6-7 and 7-8 (and the same in the more structured ones). The material is lovely and soft, and it's a nice style, more feminine than the other bib pinafore. It does seem to be a slim fit, which would have been perfect, if it weren't for the short length! There is virtually no difference between the two sizes and the 7-8 finishes a good 2 inches above the knee, so unlikely to fit beyond the first term. I'm not sure if this was a one off, it's so small as to feel mislabelled, but as it's an online only item, I can't easily change for another or a larger size. In contrast, the 7-8 in the other bib style pinafore finishes on the knee, so it's quite a lot shorter.
