Time to try…
the knitted tie

Looking for something to pep up your tailoring? At work or play, a slim knitted tie is a considered, quick and affordable update, says menswear editor Ian Wright

Sprezzatura is fashion speak for making an effort to look effortless. It’s the holy grail of men’s style, but there are ways to look nonchalantly stylish that don’t require hours of outfit planning. Exhibit A: the knitted tie. More casual than a traditional silk option, it has an offhand charm, a slim, modern shape, and the bobbly surface adds welcome texture. It’s a not-too-scary departure from the norm and works well with summer’s lighter tailoring and relaxed dress codes. And if fuchsia’s not your thing, with seven fetching shades, you can spin the colour wheel and find the right one for you.
