I love an ikat print – one look and I’m instantly whisked away to the sun-drenched climes of Indonesia and central Asia. The design – created by weaving tie-dyed threads into fabrics and once used to dress Persia’s most princely pashas – is as ancient as it is modern. The ikat-inspired sling on this adjustable sycamore chair redefines one of last year’s hottest interior trends for outdoor living. Deck chairs are my summer garden staple – perfect to pull out when the sun shines and easily folded away when the changeable British weather turns grey. This one is water-repellent so you can leave it outside for the season, and the on-trend indigo colourway will brighten up a plain patio. All you need is sunscreen and shades.
