Brushed Checked A-Line Kilt Skirt with Wool

Have this in the grey and burgundy, A little on the small side (but it might be I am getting bigger!!) however the 16 is a good fit on someone who normally takes a 14. Love it, that's why bought both. Versatile, comfy and super stylish.

Like the colours and mini length. Made mistake of wearing to work without dark tights and was very conscious of the length all day (longer length still felt a tad too short for work). Will get it right next time!

Lovely skirt - with good rich winter colours. I'll wear with coloured tights and some funky boots. Looks really good with mustard top purchased a couple of weeks ago from M&S

I loved this short check kilt skirt in the longer length (21 inch) as I am not a spring chicken. I bought both colour ways for the winter and as I was travelling and I needed an on trend wool skirt .They packed extremely well and look great teemed with appropriate colour in cashmere .

I loved this skirt, it was just what I was looking for, unfortunately I had to return it as although ordered the longer length, knee length!! it was too short, (for me), came well above my knees. M&S please do longer lengths.

I tried this skirt in store in a size 10 length 18cm - loved it but a little big. Ordered the 8 but for some reason size 8 is the only size which doesn't have a choice of length and only comes in 21cm. Decided to give it a try but the longer length was awful and looked frumpy. Sent it back. Very disappointed.

Bought a similar skirt last year in a mix of blue and burgundy which always looks and feels good. This one is just as good in terms of quality, style and fit and I know I will get loads of wear out of it. I like the slight twist of the kilt design. I'm a 'young at heart' 62 year old so feel ok about wearing the skirt in a length 18 but only with thick tights!

I've been looking for wool skirts for the several years now, but they have been somewhat of a rarity and those I have found were either pencil, the wrong colour or the wrong length, so delighted that this one has come along. I've picked up the 18" burgundy mix using the recent online offer. The size 16 was a bit loose, but initially the 14 seemed to be a bit snug. However, it does appear to move around once zipped up and seems to work itself into a more appropriate position to provide a close yet comfortable fit. I wear this on my waist which means that the level part of the hem falls just above my knee which suits me just fine (the 21" falls just below, which I'm also OK with but preferred the 18"). The fabric has a nice feel to it and is machine washable too. The colour mix is the burgundy with a light grey check highlighted with a turquoise blue which works rather well. Design-wise, it's essentially an a-line simulated wrap skirt. The two ends of the outer fabric overlap by between 10-15cm due to the diagonal, and it's stitched in place down to about 20cm below the waist, the buttons being decorative rather than functional. The lining runs from the overlapped edge around the body and back to where it started again which means that if you lift the overlapping flap it's the lining you see rather than anything else, which is quite helpful. Very happy and looking forward to this keeping me warm on some chilly days to come.

This is a nice skirt which is really properly sized. It's good to have a skirt that isn't too long nor too short. It's not going to set the heather alight stylewise, but it'll not date and will go on for years. I bought it in the grey combo and am thinking of buying the wine colour- if my size is available.
