Great school trousers
Yes, I recommend this
Lovely trousers for a slimmer child. Bought Age 15 - 16 for my slim 15 year old. Adjustable waist is great, not too much material bunched up for a change. Had a lot of trouble finding out inside leg measurement, but eventually found out 15 - 16 years is 30 3/4 inch. (strange sizing). Would definitely buy again. I have always bought the trousers with wool in previous years but as these were not available I decided to try these. They are just as thick with no itching, so a very good buy.

Perfect for slim boys
Yes, I recommend this
Very nice material. True to size. Perfect fit if you have a boy who is slim. At last, trousers that don't look baggy. Would definitely buy again and recommend.

Good buy
Yes, I recommend this
After attempting most of the M & S boys school trousers we had success with these. These actually have a slimmer fit than the "skinny fit" range so were the best fit for my tall,v slim 12 year old (size purchased 15 years).

Great fit. Quality not as expected
Yes, I recommend this
I agree with the other reviews that these trousers are the best fit for a slimmer child but the quality is quite poor. That saying, these are my son's 3rd pair and I do keep buying them but the knees wear through very easily. A real shame because if the quality was up to M and S's expected standard then they would be the perfect pair of trousers!

Perfect school trousers!
Yes, I recommend this
Sadly I could only buy one pair of these trousers as they have been discontinued! Why when they were so popular? Please bring them back as they are such a lovely fit and great quality.

very narrow waist
No, I don't recommend this
Bought for my average size son but the waist was far too small even with the adjustable straps. I bought the slimfit as he doesn't like baggy trousers but sadly they had to go back. As always I received a first class delivery and returns service.

At last, decent trousers for slim boys
Yes, I recommend this
I purchased 2 pairs of these school trousers for my Grandson whose waist is very slim. These trousers fit beautifully and look so smart.

Too big in the waist
No, I don't recommend this
These trousers are fairly good quality but they are much too big in the waist for a slim fit trouser.

Excellent trousers! How can M&S have no stock now?
Yes, I recommend this
Great fit, lovely to have slim fit trousers for my slim but tall son. We need another pair though and there are none to be had anywhere! It's the beginning of September and there are only age 4-6 available online; and none at all in Guildford store. Combined with a complete lack of any white school shirts at Guildford store (except age 4), I have to ask M&S: is this really how you want things to be? It's a well known fact that children grow substantially during summer holidays (mine certainly have), so surely it's reasonable to conclude that having stock of basic uniform items would be helpful in September as well as July? Next year I shall buy three ages of everything in July!

Why change the sizing M&S? Thin material
No, I don't recommend this
Why change the sizing from age specific i.e. 8yrs, 9yrs, etc. to now being 9-10 years, 11-12 years and so on? Also last year could buy longer and shorted length in the slim fit (was called modern fit last year) but can't this year, only in the classic fit, so to get a longer length I have had to buy a larger size which looks big and baggy defeating the object of "slim fit " and looks rubbish. The material also is very thin and see through. Both my boys are not happy with the fit of these trousers, and nor am I knowing how good they looked last year.

Love it
Yes, I recommend this
I have been buying these trousers for my son since the day he started primary school up until now (he's 14 now), and they are a perfect fit, easy to wash, its great as the waist is adjustable especially when my son has a small waist and long legs,

Still too big on waist
Yes, I recommend this
After ordering 4 different styles of school trousers for my tall skinny teenager, we have gone for these slim fit trousers in a size up. There is no growing room in leg and the waist is still too big! Have pulled in-so still have a baggy bum! Was so excited that m and s were doing skinny/slim fit school trousers . I know it's not just me who has nightmares trying to get school trousers for a boy with a 24" waist and 32" leg. Slimmer please m and s! P.S. the slim fit shirts are fab!

Slim fit means slimmer fitting on the waist
Yes, I recommend this
Just to clear it up (see first review) these trousers are part of the slim fit range for skinny kids. These are specially cut for slim kids (like plus fit or sturdy fit for bigger children). It is confusing as there are also skinny or slim leg styles, which are normal fitting but with slim legs. I always buy from this range for my skinny Jims so thanks for making them again this year!

perfect slim fit
Yes, I recommend this
Bought these trousers as the modern fit ones i normally buy were no longer available. My 10 year old is very slim therefore needs adjustable waist that dont look baggy on the legs. They appear to be very similar to the previous purchase, so hopefully will look just a good, wash after wash.

Does not conform to the M & S size chart
No, I don't recommend this
Size chart states 26" waist for age 11 and 26.75" for age 12. So, why does the waist size in the age 11 state 25"? These trousers are a good fashionable style, it's just the age does not match the size chart - which ends up wasting mums valuable time. Slim fitting means closer fitting, not smaller sized. Order at least one size up, if not two.
