Palataia Pinot Noir 2012 - Case of 6
Beautiful balanced and structured with forward (but not jammy) red berry fruit and a satisfying underlying savoury flavour, this has to be my favourite red for under ten pounds. Certainly the best pinot noir I've tasted for the price and quite a bit higher. An outstanding bargain!

German wines are always the most undervalued, and a German red has to figure as deeply unfashionable - however....
It is really very good, think good red burgundy with a bit of new world jaminess.
Can't recommend highly enough

fine value pinot
agree with others that this is an excellent value Pinot with real typicity if, as expected, with a sweeter profile than burgundy. A lovely glass especially at the 25% off price.

Yes, it's German!
Don't be fooled by the (partly made up) Palataia name, this is from the Pfalz and Germany actually grows more Pinot Noir than New Zealand does. Featured on Saturday Kitchen, and a regular favourite among my customers, (Kendal store), this is gamey and savoury, top value stuff under a tenner. Like most Pinots it matches almost any food you could throw at it.
