I agree with another reviewer who said she found them too baggy and very like 'culottes'. My little boy (4, nearly 5) is quite slim and they just looked too wide and baggy with too much material. Going to try Next, which is a shame because they're double the price there. The quality was good however.

Excellent quality and fit. Just buying them again for the 3rd year..as the kids kep growing!!! They last brilliantly and look as good as new at the end of the year (and they certainly get some road testing in between).

These are good quality and so far they are washing well - keeping their good appearance. It is possible to get cheaper shorts elsewhere (despite the "Outstanding Value" description) but cheaper options do not seem to have the elastic waist adjusters that my skinny son needs and these do. Overall, they are excellent and do the job perfectly.

These are great value for money, nobody wants to spend a fortune on school uniform but it still needs to tick all the boxes, hard wearing, durable, quick to wash and dry. They also look really smart. They are not lined, no zip or clasp fasten but that's expected given the price. The adjustable waist is perfect. Really pleased...

These shorts are excellent quality for the price, wash well and are quite hardwearing. They keep the creases well if you remove them promptly from the dryer. My son loves these shorts and even though he is taller than average for his age (6) and we have bought age 8 size, they fit him satisfactorily. Great that there are adjustable waistbands as he is quite slim in build so we always need to tighten them. It would be really helpful if there were different lengths (standard and long). We always need to buy larger sizes so they don't look as short as his swimming trunks!

I bought these for my son, thinking they were very reasonably priced and lets be honest, M&S is considered a good brand. When they arrived I was fully expecting them to be perfect so imagine my surprise when I tried them on my son and found them to look more like culottes best suited to a girl! I know my son is slender but these made his legs look like matchsticks so they went back. Shame, as I am sure they would have worn well.
