Linen Blend Straight Leg Trousers

I was really pleased when I bought these trousers just before my holidays as I needed a lightweight smart pair. They fit beautifully although I had to shorten them. After two wearings I washed them on a 30 degree wash and they shrunk both in length and in fit and are now completely useless to me. Really disappointed this time with M & S. When I first bought them I was so pleased thought I would probably go back and get them in another colour but certainly won't be doing that now!!

Having bought a navy pair of these trousers I saw the negative reviews about them so hesitated in buying a second pair although they were an excellent fit. However I have washed them, in the machine at 30 degrees, and am delighted to say they have NOT shrunk at all. I have now purchased a second pair since I feel they are such good value for the money.

I am very happy with these trousers but am so pleased that reviewers pointed out that they tend to shrink in length. Initially they were too long and had I not read the reviews I would have turned them up. In the event, I washed them first and now they are a perfect length.

Bought these in the latte colour, perfect fit and so comfortable to wear, alas not so after washing! I hand washed them in cool water but they have shrunk so will be going back. As I am 5'8" tall, I need the long length and cannot afford for shrinkage!! The same thing happened last year but, stupidly, I did not return them. I think this is the last time I will be buying M + S linen trousers.

So disappointed in these trousers! I'd tried Medium but they seemed to be far too long, so I bought Short - big mistake! Washed at 30/delicates they shrunk big style. I've tried letting down the hems but, having read other reviews, I've wasted my time - wish now I'd just returned them!

M&S should remove these from sale. I bought 3 pairs in different colours. 2 pairs have been hand washed at less than 30 degrees. They are literally 9cm shorter than the pair which hasn't been washed yet and 3cm thinner in the leg. Definitely not fit for purpose M&S. They are coming right back.

I thought a linen-mix would mean they would neither crease as badly as 100% linen, nor stretch so much. Wrong on both counts. They quickly looked shabby, & did not return to the proper size after washing. I compared them to a new pair in store - about 4" wider round the hips !! I returned 2 pairs, and got a full refund.

I wore these trousers during a very hot indoor event and found them cool and comfortable. However, the fit is much looser than I imagined from the description, so if you want the trousers to 'skim the hips and thighs', a smaller size might suit. I am also a bit concerned about the fabric creasing, especially if packed for a holiday.

Just love the cut and feel of these but they shrank in the leg length after washing at 30 degrees. Also impossible to iron. Despite this, have ordered another pair - love the grey - and will dry clean only!

I love these trousers. They are classy, smart and comfortable. I am trying to buy at least one more pair, but small sizes are like hen's teeth!! (Same applies to a nightdress I want ....) Help?

I bought a pair of the navy trousers some weeks ago and have been very pleased with them. Today I have collected another pair in the latte colour and I am very disappointed that they are a completely different fit! They are a much tighter fit over the hips and a smaller waist, so they have to be returned. Please Marks and Spencer's get your sizing right so the same style but different colour are the same fit ,as customers will be getting fed up taking things back all the time.

I thought these would be perfect for work - how wrong I was, they shrunk on the length and look half mast ! They also looked like an old rag within half an hour of wearing them. I'm taking them back to see if I can get a refund as they're now no use whatsoever. First time I've ever had to do this with m&s trousers .
