Islay 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky - Single Bottle

this is the most disgusting whisky ever. I have an idea it might be something to do with the barrel, and hope for MandS's sake they didn't have many more like this. Basically it was like drinking Dettol. Sorry MandS, but you asked I have to add, that I had absolutely no problem getting a refund.

Good whiskey and makes a nice gift, but thought the gift message would go on the whiskey packaging rather than printed on the delivery slip along with the price, address etc! Gift message option should be removed, or printed in a more gift-appropriate place. I had slightly higher expectations of M&S and would expect this from any seller for the price paid

My brother was very pleased with this Single Malt - which we sent as a gift parcel. Although he almost returned it unopened as it said "wine" on the packaging :) speedy service - a good alternative for a man's present where flowers are not suitable. I love that M&S will send almost any of their range with no price details in the packaging so ideal for gifting. Well done M&S

The packaging is quite nice, but for this Islay malt, it doesn't do the best job representing just how incredible this whiskey region is. It is relatively mild, very low on the peat, oil, flavour and complexity of a good Islay like Ardbeg, Lagavulin or Laphroaig. While it can make a good introduction to the Islay malts for the unfamiliar, you'd be better off with the others I mentioned as they are exceedingly far superior to this.

I received this whisky as a gift. I am familiar with Islay whisky, I must have tasted most of them. This was the worst I have ever tasted. There is an unpleasant fishy nose (not to be mistaken for the pleasant salty of an Ardbeg) and after that it's just an undistinguished whisky. I really don't understand all the great reviews, except that most of them are written by people who have not actually tasted it. I like the own brand islay from Sainsbury, and the offering from Asda is very good indeed. The M&S effort is very dissapointing

I bought this as a gift for my father. He said it was a very good whisky. A lovely smooth taste. A great gift to send when you don't want to send flowers.

I bought this as a gift for a friend. The packaging was great and when I showed it to others everyone commented about how good it was. Even my grandad, who knows his whisky, liked it. Recommend it to others. Also, the Marks and Spencer site was convenient for shopping (except, the Outlet part of it, which wasn't).

As the Whisky is very well packed, - it is a nice way of sending some Christmas Cheer. My friend was absolutely delighted with this. I added some Shortbread to the present as well, - making truly traditional Scottish Fare.

As I don't live in UK, I needed to send a present to my Dad for his 70th Birthday, ordering on the website was so easy to use and it was delivered on time. My Dad has since rung to say, he was so impressed and that he is really enjoying savouring the Whiskey. Good choice!

Bought the bottle of Islay for a friend who was celebrating his 70th birthday, it was delivered as promised and went a long way to making his day that bit more special - must have been a good bottle as the feedback was that it did not last very long
