Textured Checked Coat with Wool

I first saw this item featured in Vogue magazine. I thought it was just right for me but couldn't afford it at the time. When I found it a couple of months later on the offers page I couldn't believe my luck! I ordered it straight away - and I've not been disappointed!

Although I've bought this a little late in the season, I'm saving it for the Autumn. Lovely navy and blue combination makes it a great city coat. I'll wear it over jeans on casual days, or over a suit when working. I love the colours, and it's flattering on. The slightly boxy fit will be great with layers, and the sleeves are just the right length.

This coat took my eye a while back but I only purchased it recently when there was a promotion. I ended trying 2 sizes and then took the option of a "Plus" version in the smaller size, which just offered more comfort, but without having to go up a size, if that makes sense! I am very tall and always like to have my jackets long on the back and this fits the bill, though I will have to get the seamstress to do some magic on the sleeves and make me a false cuff. I'm also going to get another giant popper added to the front, as just 2 is insufficient, in my view. Will work with blues, blacks.

and I think the sizing is fine. It is meant to look "roomy" It certainly stands out - I have received a compliment from someone I don't know that well.

I totally agree with the previous reviewer .. this coat is fabulous both in style and colour, but HUGE! I am normally a size 10-12 (always used to be a 12 but sizes seem to have got bigger generally) ... and in this I needed an 8. The 10 hung off me!! I also bought THE pink duster coat earlier in the season and that had the same issue so Ii'm not sure what is happening with M&S sizing! I had to wait quite a while too before i could get my hands on it as every store seemd to put the 8 on the mannequin, and I wanted to buy it in store as the sizes seemed to vary when i tried them on. Finally got one though and it was worth waiting for as it is pretty cool and stylish.

This is so large. It is a lovely coat for Spring but sizing is way out. I'm usually a 12 or 14, but the size that I needed was an 8 !!!!! I notice as I type this, all the smaller sizes are out of stock and I'm not surprised. You need to significantly downsize if, and when, more stock appears online. If you are normally a size 8 then I don't think this coat is suitable. Super coat, bizarre cut.
