Double Breasted Faux Fur Collar Coat with Cashmere

Love the colour... goes with most of my outfits. Its has a classy/sophisticated look to it. Everyone said they loved it... got loadssss of compliments the first day I wore it. Its very warm... good for the winter..material is great and its a perfect/comfy fit. Moreover... main thing is my hubby really liked it on me...

I wasn't actually looking for a coat of this colour, just a change from the usual blacks/greys available this season so I'm very, very pleased. It's difficult to describe as the pictures don't do it justice, it's an orangey brown with a mock mink collar, it's attracted loads of compliments from friends and strangers! The cut is quite fitted which I was worried about as I like to sometimes wear blazers or jackets underneath but they don't make the coat look bulky in anyway. Although the winter hasn't yet thrown its worst at us, I work in a school and spend a lot of time in the playground on frosty days and it is deliciously warm too. After a looong search for a winter coat I finally went for this one. It's great because you can wear it with the fur on a cold day (no need for a scarf) or without when you want a more casual look. The fit is a little large, as a size 12-14 I could actually get away with a size 10 even though I have a bigger chest. The faux fur is really soft and the coat is excellent quality for the price - the only thing I would say is that it could do with a more robust hanger inside as the coat is quite heavy and it takes ages to remove/add the fiddly fur collar. The coat DOES have fully functioning outside pockets - please disregard the other review as that nearly put me off buying! They are just tack-stitched closed, you'll need to gently unpick the loose stitches to give you nice roomy pockets for your hands. The inside pocket is a bonus!

I purchased this coat along with another very expensive coat from a top designer brand. The designer coat has been returned as it looked very inferior incomparison to this piece. This coat is very classy in design and beautifully crafted. I was concerned that the faux fur may look cheap but this is not the case at all. The wool does feel slightly hard, which I believe is due to the low cashmere content however the coat still has a quality feel. The coat looks equally as elegant when the collar is detached making the style very versatile. I have no issues with the lay of the pockets or buttons as a previous reveiwer mentioned. I am a size 8 but bought a 10 as I want to be able to wear a tweed hacking underneath. The coat is roomy enough to accommodate a jacket but still hangs nicely when worn alone. The coat arrived very well packed and was not creased on arrival.I rarely shop at M and S but will be in the future.

Beautiful colour, 2 lovely deep front pockets and (unusually for a woman's coat) an inside pocket as well - great! The fur collar is detachable making the coat very versatile. The collar looks good up or down, with or without the fur attached. The downsides are 1) the lining feels cheap and not as soft as it should be 2) the sizing is too large - I'm usually a 10 but even the 8 is on the large side, especially on the hips, no 6's in stock. The pocket flaps do stick out a bit but they can be tucked into the pockets which gets round the problem. Despite these minor negatives, the coat is lovely and cosy, looks smart and stylish so I've kept it.

Some positives – the coat was a beautiful shade of brown, as was the faux fur collar. The coat was true to size with admirable wool/cashmere content, and I was delighted there was no back vent. Now for the negatives. The website didn't state the coat’s length but on me it sat frumpily at mid-calf. 95–100 cm would have been ideal. The fur collar was far too big and made me look misshapen. A tiny fur collar would have been perfect, perhaps just around the neckline itself and not anywhere down the front of the coat. And what is it with Winter coats and non-functional pockets? Two outer pockets with flaps but they were just for decoration; you couldn’t actually put your hands in. Even worse, the flaps jutted out unattractively as in the website picture. The alignment of the two buttons directly beneath the fur collar was completely off, and the lining—an ugly steely grey polyester—didn’t lie flat but puffed up at the hem. My wait for the perfect brown coat continues.
