Cocoon Cutaway Collar Coat

I had seen this coat advertised and thought it looked perfect. However, when it arrived it was huge it would have fitted someone double my size. Very disappointed, now am unsure whether to reorder as I do not know what size to order for it to fit me.

Was looking forward to receiving this coat and as per other reviews had ordered a size smaller but wanted to allow for wearing layers in the winter. Coat was massive and swamped my 5ft 3 ins I could have gone down three sizes. Material was disappointingly thin and because of this I probably wouldn't have kept the coat even if it had fitted - awful and went straight back.

Love this coat. Ordered it online and went down a size, as per other reviews. Arrived today. Pulled it out of the box, on a hanger no less, and it hung beautifully, no creases at all. It fit perfectly and will be a wonderful fall coat here in Canada. M&S. need to make this in more colours.... Red would be fab.

I saw this coat in an article in a newspaper and looked it up on the M&S website. After reading the reviews I decided to try it on in-store rather than order it online. I am 5ft 4in and a size 10. The size 10 fits me perfectly - yes it's "slouchy", but I think that's the style. The length of the coat and the arm length is perfect. A size smaller would be too short on the arms. Very stylish and good quality. A fab price - coats I've been looking at in "designer" stores are two/three times the price. Will look great for a smart look or dressed down with jeans and boots.

Great stylish coat, clearly not to everyone's taste from the reviews but not all styles suit everyone. For me, it is something you can throw on and look stylish without much effort. It is oversized but that's the point, I love this coat and wish they did a warm red or navy too! If you are top heavy it's also fab as this slims that area down rather than draws attention to it as a double breasted coats can. Thanks M& S this is great.

I love this coat. I saw it in the M&S magazine and knew I had to have one. Yes the sizing is large but that is the style of the coat, I love the colour (I bought the lighter one) and at £85 it is good value for money. I think this will be staying in my coat wardrobe for a long time.

I'm very pleased with this coat. As I understand it cocoon coats are meant to look oversized - in a good way ! -and this is. I bought the oyster colour and love it as a change from all the dark outerwear I usually seem to go for. The quality and design is excellent and it's a very easy coat to wear, either casually or more dressed up. Having looked at other reviews I wondered if this was the same coat! - but it is and I'm very happy with my purchase and think the price is fair for the product.

I was so looking forward to this coat, the reviews were very complementary. I ordered a size smaller (as suggested), it arrived quickly (brilliant), packaged in a box(great). I could not describe my overwhelming feeling of disappointment when I saw the fabric. I ordered the camel colour and it looked cheap and nasty. I even showed a friend who I had told how excited I was about finding a lovely coat. She confirmed my feelings. It has been returned. I cannot believe women are prepared to pay £85 for this. Come on M and S, get your act together, we want good quality staples like you used to do back in the day!!!

What can I say other than that I agree with all the other reviewers. This coat is totally out in its sizing, even allowing for the cocoon shape and dropped shoulder line I should not need to go down two sizes. I purchased the black as much as I adored the light shade I felt that it was totally impractical for my lifestyle. The actual quality is great though I did think it was overpriced as it is hardly a luxury fabric. Not one to order online unless you go for multiple sizes.

I am 5" 2 and size 10 or 8 depending on the style I ordered this ivory coat in an 8 and it was huge the sleeves went passed my fingertips and it was so bulky in the back I wanted to keep it as I love the style to bits but will have to send it back I am so sorry to see it go. Come on M & S you need to be on top of the sizing of your products checking the finished items to make sure they are standard bench mark sizes . Very unhappy with having to send it back. The style and quality was excellent.

A lovely coat and ivory is a classy beige and is not the pinkish shade shown on the web site. Bought the 10 and it swamped me (I'm 5'2"). The sleeves were long and came over my fingertips, and the dropped or extended shoulders came almost to my elbows! I tried to re-order in size 6 or 8 but they are out of stock. I was disappointed but would recommend this very modern coat for any age group or size but suggest buying at least one size smaller than usual.

I bought this coat online thinking it may have a slightish pink tone, but turned out to be a very unflattering shade on me.The description of cocoon shape is accurate and I expected it to be loose but it was enormous and the shoulder line was far too low down.Also found it creased very easily.Had to return this one but kept the M and S collection tweed coat which I did love.

Lovely wearable coat which comes in a flattering neutral colour which matches everything. Generous sizing - would recommend this for all ages and body shapes

I love this coat! It fits me two sizes smaller than I normally wear and still looks like its meant to. The size slider defeated me on my iPad but who knows - i feel like a 12 inside anyway! Lovely material not too heavy, I bought the pale camel colour which will go with a lot of things. It's dress downable or upable, very versatile. I bought early in the season so as not to miss this one. A keeper.
