Panelled Pencil Skirt

I love this skirt. It is a relatively heavy quality which means it hangs nicely. The length is flattering, just below the knee, I'd say around 27inches. I bought it for business wear but it can easily be dressed up for something more of an occasion, too.

Colour was lovely - not so keen on the fabric. I am a standard size 10 in M&S clothes and this skirt was a little tight - when measured against autograph skirts I already have it came up smaller! Skirt length too long for me for a pencil skirt which I prefer to be on my knee. I'm afraid I returned it.

I ordered this skirt in 12 and 14 as sizing this season seems haywire . I do despair especially when items are only online . The skirts arrived today. Georgeous colour and style but heart sank on trying them on. The 14 is huge and the 12 too tight on the waist and hips. This is a pencil skirt, so should shape neatly down the thighs, but certainly not in this case. Also, I am 5 ft 3 ins and the skirt is mid calf length, which I hadn't expected or wanted. The main problem is the sizing. The difference between a 12 and 14 is too great , and the 14 is NOT a 14 like last season 14 .

When this skirt appeared on the website, I was delighted and ordered it immediately. The colour is indeed gorgeous. However, there are several problems. I am 5ft 9 ins and the length is just below the knee. In addition, the flap bit at the front feels awkward and uncomfortable when you try to move in the skirt. By far the worst issue was a very poor zip, which made it very difficult to take off the skirt. The skirt will be going straight back. I am finding more and more zips in M&S products are sticking/catching. Is there no quality control? Poor quality for a product of this price.
