Manzanos Reserva

Vintage: 2009

Fabulously bold Rioja. Layers of blackcurrant, bitter cherry and coffee, spice and star anise hurtle onto the palate in a great wave of flavour. There are caramel and sweet vanilla tones too, and raisin and fig flavours on the finish. This big, rich wine maintains a balance of lively fruit and oaky complexity.

About this bottle: Young winemaker Borja Ripa is rapidly establishing a name for himself as one of Rioja’s rising stars. At only 32, Borja has some 10 vintages under his belt, having worked in a number of the top Spanish wine regions as well as gaining New World experience in Australia. For this rich red wine, Borja sources grapes from the best sites in the Rioja Baja, specifically the ‘Pago Viña Marichalar’ vineyards that surround the village of San Adrián. Planted on clay-limestone soils, the vines have an average age of 25 years.

Chablis

Vintage: 2010

Bright Chablis with gorgeous almond and flower aromas. Apricot notes on the palate are followed by a flint and lemon-peel tangy crispness on the finish.

About this bottle: Chablisiens pride themselves on the distinctive minerality of their wines and believe this nuance comes directly from the chalky soils on which the region's vineyards lie. This fine white comes from upper and middle Kimmeridgian subsoils alternating limestone and marl with fossilised Exogyra virgula - a type of oyster shell. Extra richness has been gained by ageing this wine in very fine-grained French oak barrels.

Prosecco La Vita

A very fresh, crisp Prosecco with light lemon and pear aromas. The flavourful palate is refreshing and perfectly balanced with a fine mousse.

About this bottle: Fabulously fashionable, Prosecco is made by pressing white grapes very delicately before proceeding with fermentation. For this wine winemaker Simone Casazza uses only Glera grapes, which are the mainstay of the Prosecco. Simone follows in the footsteps of his grandfather and brother in his passion for wine, and knows how to impart the best flavours to the bottle by using delicate contact with the wine’s fine lees.
