Check mate

It can be tricky to look suitably fabulous in September, when the weather’s sunny one minute, overcast the next. What you need is a lightweight coat with a modern heritage print – throw over your shoulders or tie at the waist to stay warm without damaging your fashion credentials.

A dress to impress

Scanning the Fashion Week catwalks, every editor is trying to spot the next big trend. After being shown at the Marks & Spencer press show back in June, this yellow dress was hailed as a future hit, and now fall’s arrived the wait is over. For top style points, team with knee-high boots and a corduroy blazer (corduroy is a huge trend for this season, so you’ll get plenty of wear from this buy).

Go for leather

With photographers on every corner, the perfect Fashion Week outfit needs to look polished, but not overdone. To achieve this, copy every stylist’s favourite trick of mixing standout items, such as this leather pencil skirt, with more subtle pieces, such a striped sweater. Then choose heels or loafers depending on your vicinity to the nearest taxi.

Teddy wear

We’re calling it already – this teddy coat is the ultimate ‘it’ coat for fall/winter 2018. And while you’re turning heads, you need a good pair of sunglasses so you can spy right back at all those fabulous outfits. Plus, as every Fashion Week-goer knows, sunglasses are the best way to disguise those post-party eye bags.

Access(orise) all areas

Whether you’re dashing between shows across London, or simply tackling the tasks of everyday life, you want footwear that goes the extra mile. For some, that’s chunky leather trainers in brilliant white, for others, wear-all-day heels, featuring foot-cushioning Insolia technology, are just the ticket. Box bags and oversized scarves are also key accessory trends this season. Don’t you just love it when fashion and practicality come together?
