Tapered Fit Stretch Jeans

Great fit, great colour, great price when on sale

As others have said, the waist is a bit big and gapes open. You really need to wear a belt with these, unless you particularly want to show your underpants! However the material is beautifully soft, much more than regular denim, and the stretch makes them fit really nicely but still be comfortable, even when bending down or squatting. The colour is really good, and these look smart enough to wear with a nice shirt. The tapered fit is really nice. My wife says I don't look like I'm wearing dad jeans any more.

Curious to know what has happened to M&S sizing. I have consistently bought 38w 33l trousers and they have always fitted. These tapered fit jeans start off 2 inches bigger around the waist (and when the description says stretch, boy, do they s-t-r-e-t-c-h!) and continue to offer more material than required around the trunk and upper leg. This is at odds with the low waist style. Material has a artificial looking washed out area on the front upper leg area and does not much look like denim. Someone needs to go back to the drawing board...disappointing.

Excellent fit worth buying

I was unable to get my size as they stretch by a huge amount around the waist, after two goes I cancelled my order. Too much stretch in the material and although I know the trend for the younger generations is for jeans to sit lower down on the waist but I didn't feel comfortable with this, the back seemed lower than the front. My previous pair of tapered jeans from M & S had just enough stretch and the waist height felt much more natural. I know companies have to look to the times but it's a shame you appear to have lost sight of the age of your core shoppers.

I bought these for my husband who was very pleased with these jeans. Because of the 4 way stretch he had to go down a size :) He said he would definitely recommend these for fit and comfort.

Disappointed to find that these were uncomfortable and also too large on waist. I wish Marks could reintroduce the 'tapered with stretch' jeans of a year or so ago. These are a poor replacement. 4 way stretch is not for me.

One M&S shop had a helpful stand with info as to the differences between the different styles of men's trousers, e.g. straight, tapered etc. I am tall and slim and have difficulty finding a smaller waste size -32, although I am nearer 31 but virtually nobody makes that size, - with a 33 length, as my purchase has. I often wear walking boots and for them the legs of these jeans are really on the narrow side, but I am perhaps a bit fussy and factoring all these things in these jeans are among the best I can find anywhere at any price. I'm not crazy about the faded thigh-fronts - it's a fashion, but more likely to show marks.

Great idea as those of us who have a slightly larger waist don't have to put up with baggy grandad jeans. The stretch is great for ease of movement but the waist is over large. Tried a smaller size but these were too tight around the thighs, so happy to wear a belt. Not as good as M&S relaxed fit, ( last winter) which they are no longer seem to offer so bring those back ,please!
