    A deliciously different Pinot Grigio from Sicily with a flushed bouquet of tropical and citrus fruits over a supple palate that is perfectly balanced and pleasantly refreshing.

    About this bottle: Sicily is one of the most historic wine growing regions in the world, and yet Pinot Grigio, the darling grape of Italy, has only recently been introduced there. However, planted in the north-facing vineyards of the sunny island’s Trapani province, the sheltered microclimate offers excellent conditions to ripen the grape slowly so it retains its delicate complexities. By hand harvesting, winemaker Stefano Chioccioli has managed to craft a highly distinctive take on this classic grape variety.

    This unique style of wine from Portugal has floral and herbaceous aromas plus notes of grapefruit and green pear over a refreshing palate.

    About this bottle: Portugal’s light and refreshing Vinho Verde wines hail from the area of northwest Portugal traditionally known as the Entre-Douro-e-Minho – between the Douro and Minho rivers. The wine is bottled while young and fresh, which means it often still has some youthful effervescent sparkle in it. This example, from winemaker Carlos Teixeira, blends the local grape varieties Trajadura and Arinto - which give the wine its body and fruity freshness – and the Loureiro variety which adds floral notes and a herby, mineral edge.

    About this bottle: The Alma Cersius wine co-operative brings together three wineries in southern France’s Languedoc region: Cers, Portiragnes and Villeneuve les Béziers. Their 1200 hectares of vineyards nurture many local and some more famous grape varieties, which thrive in the sun-kissed stony hillside terroir and are kept healthy by oceanic breezes sweeping up from the Mediterranean. For this wine, experienced Portiragnes winemaker Guillaume Bonzoms selected prime Sauvignon Blanc grapes that were harvested before dawn to capture all their freshness and fruit purity.

    A fresh dry Chenin displaying classic baked apple and lime aromas over a full, fleshy palate with creamy baked apple and ripe melon flavours.

    About this bottle: South Africa’s Paarl region is renowned for the quality of its growing conditions and the potential of the grapes it produces. This Chenin Blanc was made by Boutinot winemaker Marinda Kruger van Eck, who sourced grapes from mature bush vines growing in unirrigated vineyards in the Paarl and Drakenstein areas. The fruit was hand harvested and only gently handled in the winery, helping to capture its aromatic freshness. Miranda aged the wine on its lees to extract extra depth and character.

Luis Felipe Edwards have vineyards throughout the valley and are able make wines that represent the best their region has to offer, such as this very modern Sauvignon Blanc. Winemaker Nicolas Bizzari selects different parcels of grapes to create the perfect balance between mouthwatering fruit and food-friendly freshness.
