Poor quality
No, I don't recommend this
These trousers initially caused problems as the school said they were not school trousers but chinos and sent my son home. I managed to convince them that they were indeed school uniform but needn't have bothered as after two washes they look so shabby that my son is refusing to wear them. I think that cotton trousers are a good idea but the quality needs to be improved. The price is expensive for an item which has been worn for 2 days.

Not suitable for school trousers
No, I don't recommend this
These were not what I expected at all - the material was more like jeans than school trousers and they were a very light colour - they were not suitable for my son's primary school so they were returned

Best trousers for eczema sufferers
Yes, I recommend this
I bought these for my 6 year old who suffers from eczema and they are the best cotton school trousers I have found so far. They look smart, are comfortable to wear and wash well. We have had them for a few weeks and so far they are showing no signs of wear. They are certainly holding up much better than trousers I bought from specialist eczema clothing sites, which were three times the price and started disintegrating after one wear!

Great for eczema kids but don't last long.
Yes, I recommend this
My son has suffered from severe eczema and it was wonderful to find M&S stocking pure cotton school trousers without labels, etc. so much cheaper than the specialist alternatives. They are soft and my son finds them very comfy and they don't irritate his skin. However, they fade very quickly and they go through at the knees after only a few months. My son has 4 pairs which he has been wearing on rotation since September, so that's only wearing each pair once or twice a week, but they already have small holes and rips in the knees and are very faded (especially at the knees). The same thing happened last year to the smaller size, I refused to buy any more towards the end of the summer term (those ones I had only bought at Easter) and ended up sending him to school looking very shabby. Come on, M&S, make these more hard wearing - you are filling a valuable gap in the market but they need to be better able to withstand the everyday activities of boys.

Dreadful quality - M&S please improve this item!
No, I don't recommend this
My boys have eczema so I was delighted to find pure cotton trousers. They started wearing them in October and by December every pair had holes in the knees and all the hems had come down. My boys do not play football so the blame does not lie there. This is certainly not the quality I expect from M&S.

boys school cotton trousers
No, I don't recommend this
The trousers are a good fit but that is all. With one pair my son managed to tear a hole in the knee the first time he wore them. With the other pair the colour faded so quickly that they looked old and worn quickly. Now, in January, with only three months of wear, the knee is nearly worn through so he'll not be able to use them as a school uniform.

Boys school trousers
Yes, I recommend this
These are very nice quality school trousers - very important to us that they are 100% cotton and skin kind. It would be great if they made a version of these with slightly reinforced knees as the first two pairs only lasted from Sept to Jan because the knees ripped playing football! Nevertheless because they are so nice I bought another 2 pairs!

Nice cotton trousers think will be heard wearing
Yes, I recommend this
My son has only just started wearing these but feel a better quality then the other ranges, so thought would give them a try, quite baggy around the waist and legs though wish were more skinny.

Knees fade badly
No, I don't recommend this
The knees of all 5 pairs of the trousers i bought for my son faded after only being worn twice and washed once. The hem also came undone on one trouser leg after two wears. Very dissapointing quality.

School Trousers
Yes, I recommend this
My son hasn't worn these trousers to school yet, so I can't comment on how long they will last or how they will wash up! However, what I can tell you first off is that my 8 year old soon to be 9 year old son in 4 weeks time, likes them which is an added bonus as he has Autism. They are a nice thick, soft to touch type quality material, rather than the usual thin polyester/cotton type school trousers. My son is of a tall, slim to medium solid build and still these trousers are a little big but the inside buttons that can be used to tighten the waist sorts that out. They also reach his waist instead of being uncomfortably too low down on the hips, but every child is built differently, so what may be high waisted on one child maybe lower on another. The proof will be in the wearing when school starts!

Colour a bit too dark
Yes, I recommend this
Good pair of trousers, but my 12 year old son chose a different pair which is middle grey rather than dark grey.

Boy's cotton trousers
Yes, I recommend this
Buy these every year for my son for school. he has eczema and theses 100% cotton trousers suit his skin and stop him from over heating. So pleased to find these as 100% cotton difficult to find and the price is very good.

Lovely soft fabric but style not quite right
No, I don't recommend this
These trousers are soft and gentle against the skin. My son loved the feel of them but they don't look like other school trousers. As he is starting high school in September, he didn't want to stand out and so they have been returned.
