Athenian Floor Lamp

Bought to match Athenian table lamps... easy to assemble...a good buy.

Good sturdy elegant lamp. I received one as a house warming gift and then ordered another online. Unfortunately the one that was a gift was damaged when i opened it and was unable to get another as they had gone on sale at that stage. Overall a good lamp but a bit disappointed i was unable to get a pair to finish the room.

Difficult to put together. Not manufactured well as the parts do not fit properly making it impossible to fit the screw under the stand as there is not enough thread visible. This is vital to keeping the stand rigid. Overall a poor buy.

A beautiful floor lamp which was a bargain at this price but would have still been good value at the full price. I am very pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend this item. It's unfortunate that the matching table lamps are no longer available. The black/gold distressed style paint effect is lovely and the pattern in the shade when the lamp is switched on is also very pleasing. As pointed out earlier the lamp is very slightly different to the photograph in that the block section at the top, sandwiched between the two squares is now cylindrical. I don't think that this detracts from the overall aesthetic though and is a small detail. Overall the build quality is great with two sturdy metal sections connected together with a metal tube via a central resin spacer and then attached to a robust resin base, The trick to putting it up solo is to follow the build sequence in the instructions otherwise you could come unstuck, alternatively two pairs of hands will easily tackle it.

This product was in the M & S sale making exceptional value. The purchase process and delivery was very efficient.

Very disappointed with this. Normally M & S have high standards but this one slipped through the Quality control net. Not at all well finished and difficult to assemble.

This lamp was purchased to replace a similar one we had purchased quite a while ago compared to the old one the replacement was of a much poorer quality and had loose fittings we had no option other than to return. The earlier one came in one piece however the replacement had to be put together and then dismantled to be returned.

The lamp stand has been changed in design. It is about 4 inches taller than the old design and the way it has been moulded is poor quality. The lamp you get is not like the picture shown on the website. The on/off is by a foot switch anf the detail at the top has been rounded rather than the square detailed in the picture. I bought this to match previous lamps we bought but are very dissapointed
