Great cotton trousers
Yes, I recommend this
It-s so difficult to find real cotton pants for a boy. I appreciate that M&S is doing this cotton range. Thank you. The fabric is really friendly to skin.

Great COTTON :) uniform trousers
Yes, I recommend this
They are cotton, soft and comfortable, lovely deep graphite-grey colour and my boy loves them.Ok maybe they do not have a crease that stays on no matter what and you need to iron it after every wash to achieve one but I prefer that to polyester, teflon and all other plastic coating you find in about 99% of school trousers out there.I cannot comment on durability yet as I bought them for the first time but knowing my child and how fast he goes through clothes I ordered some spare ones anyway. It would however be a great bonus if M&S stocked them all year round due to a slightly shorter life span of cotton trousers(a thought for the future maybe?).

Boys Pure Cotton Skinkin Trousers
No, I don't recommend this
The material these trousers are made of is a dust magnet and awful. Am having to literally de-fluff at the front door so my son at least walks through the door looking fluff-free and after just one wash the trousers completely lost their colour.

These feel hard and look very different from the normal school trouser and so wouldnt put my son in them as he would stand out from his friends

pure cotton school trousers
Yes, I recommend this
I can't believe it's mainly polyester that's out there for children's school trousers. I wanted cotton mainly as it's breathable but also as my son has eczema. They wash well and the adjustable waistband works well

Not suitable for school
No, I don't recommend this
I ordered these as a pair of black school trousers & was very disappointed. They are definitely not black - more like charcoal grey - and would not have been accepted at school as uniform. They also arrived with marks on the inside of the leg. I ended up returning them to the local store and replacing them with the traditional style schhol trouser.

Black 100% cotton uniform trousers
Yes, I recommend this
It was around 85% black, so in comparison to other black trousers it looked greyish. As the label states it can be washed at 40 C degrees, I bought 1 box of "Dylan" washing machine dye "velvet black" plus salt (it has to be dyed at 40 C); that come to around £7. After dying it it looks perfectly black (I did 2 pairs), just need to iron it now :-)

School Trousers!!
No, I don't recommend this
I ordered these trousers for my son for school, they were horrendous, the colour was not black, the fabric was awful. My husband wears trousers similar to these from the Blue Harbour range, not at all suitable for school or for a teenage boy.

school trousers
No, I don't recommend this
I bought 4 pairs of these trousers for my son. One pair was true to the colour on the label which was black, the other 3 pairs were more like blue/grey. Not at all black. They will pass for school as uniform allows grey too, so didn't return them. Otherwise no problems. I do not know how they have passed quality control for the colour issue as only one pair was the correct colour. The label stated on all of the trousers that they were black??

Good for sensitive skin but terrible quality!
No, I don't recommend this
I buy these trousers as, like many other reviewers, my son has very sensitive skin and is prone to eczema. I commend M&S for being the ONLY high street store that I have found selling school trousers that are cotton and do not contain Teflon, however the quality of these trousers is not good at all which means that although the price seems reasonable, you end up having to buy extra pairs. I have bought quite a few pairs of these trousers over the last few years and find that they always tear and fade at the knee after one or two school terms. The last batch I bought also had a very annoying problem with the hems coming undone after a couple of wears, resulting in me having to spend a couple of evenings hemming them all again by hand! On the plus side, the material is very soft with no rough stitching and I find that the grey ones look similar enough to other school trousers for him to be able to wear them to school. I would recommend them to other parents if like me, your child has sensitive skin, as they do not cause any flare ups or sore spots and are cheaper than the very few alternatives available on the internet. However, just be aware that these trousers do not last long and you will probably have to spend some time re-sewing hems!

Lovely quality, soft pure cotton, in good tailored flat front style, fantastic to be able to wear cotton trousers to school for the Summer term!

Skin kind trousers
Yes, I recommend this
WELL DONE M AND S! My 4 year old Grandson has severe eczema. The 'skin kind' school wear has been brilliant. All his clothes have to be 100% cotton and need washing at 60 degrees and tumble drying on hot. 'Skin kind' school wear stands up well to this and the general wear and tear of a four year old. Thanks M and S

Rubbish quality
No, I don't recommend this
I bought 6 pairs and had to hem three pairs within one half term . The latest batch one size larger had useless waist bands - of 12 pairs I could only adjust 3!! What had happened to m and s quality ?

Rips easily
Yes, I recommend this
The skinkind trousers are 100% cotton which is great for kids who have eczema. On the downside, it means that they will tear quite easily compared to synthetic trousers.

No alternative
No, I don't recommend this
Being in a position to buy 100% cotton only, so choice is limited. The trousers fade very easily, especially around the knees. The material is not durable and the stitching around the hem is useless.

Best find!
Yes, I recommend this
Love these trousers, my little boy has severe eczema and the cheaper supermarket teflon coated trousers make him really itchy and sore. I was looking for 100% cotton for him and found a few others sites but they were so expensive and for how little time he fits in clothes and the fact his cream wreaks his clothes i didnt want to spend a fortune, these are a reasonable price, the only downside which isn't the manufacturers fault is they dont hold the crease or look as smart but the comfort far outweighs that for me!

not suitable for school
No, I don't recommend this
I bought two pairs of these trousers for my grandson to wear to school. They do not look as smart as his usual school trousers but his size for these was unavailable. My grandson says they are very comfortable but on his first day wearing them at school he was told they are a not a dark enough shade of black (this is true) and not smart enough so he will be wearing them casually out of school and I now have to buy more conventional school trousers. Nice idea as he has sensitive skin but not really suitable for purpose.

Good trousers badly done
Yes, I recommend this
I have bought a number of these trousers now and had the same problem with many of them. The seams are just not properly done and they open. We have to sew them again as it is impossible to wear the item as it is literally falling apart. A quality check of the seams would be much needed. regards,

Poor excuse for clothing
No, I don't recommend this
The skin kind school trousers are very thin and a I had to order a 14 year old seize for a 10 year old boy. Leaving me with all the work of having to take them in because the length of the trouser leg was disproportionally long to the with of the waist. I was also disappointed that there was no choice whatsoever in skin kind models or styles. I found it very discriminatory to children with skin conditions or sensitive skin.

Fell to pieces in first term of school
No, I don't recommend this
Got two pairs of these trousers for 10 year old son. Lovely soft material but NOT durable enough. One pair split badly at the seam on the very first day of school. Second pair quickly followed suit. Have spent many frustrating evenings sewing up seams/hems. Now the material itself has holes. These trousers did not survive the first term of school. Would not recommend.
