Lovely bed but I was under the impression it came with mattresses as these are pictures. They were an added expense I did not expect .

Side rails snapped
No, I don't recommend this
We were pleased with this bed but, exactly as described by the previous review, the side panel snapped suddenly after just a few months of normal use. An independent assessor came to look at the bed, then arranged for delivery of a new piece of wood, then came back to fit the new piece. Altogether it was months before the bed was right again. And now, about a year after initial purchase, the other side panel has snapped in exactly the same way. We'll be asking M&S to take it away and give us a full refund.

No, I don't recommend this
Very mixed opinion. Styling v good, comfortable & practical. Daughter v pleased with it. However it took 4 attempts to get one that was not marked in some way, and that had a hidden flaw - one of the side rails had a large knot beneath the veneer, and the rail snapped when I sat down heavily on it one evening. M&S customer & delivery services were excellent throughout this saga, and the QA'd replacement was unmarked. However it is no longer - pushing the guest bed back under a few times has marked the legs. So I agree with other reviewers about the propensity of the wood to dent easily. The pine used is only minimally seasoned and therefore soft.

Bought this for my sons big boy bedroom as he's now requesting sleepovers! Ordered and contacted within 2 days to arrange delivery, the delivery slot was text to me 2 days prior to delivery. I was called the day before I expected the delivery advising the lorry was in the area with the bed and did I want it delivered in 10 mins? I hadn't dismantled the old bed so advised the driver I couldn't accept it as I was also still at work - no problem, they waited until 6pm to allow me time to get home, dismantle the bed and clear the room. The 2 man squad were lovely, they respected my property by using dust sheets, shoe covers and unpackaged the item outside to prevent packaging in the house. The bed was built and placed exactly where we wanted it in the room in 20 minutes. I came back to M&S for furniture after having the same positive experience with a cot and changer I bought when my son was born. I would certainly recommend the item and the service!!

I purchased this guest bed after the ivory was out of stock and then on a longer delivery. I wasn't sure whether I would like the pine finish but I'm very pleased with it. Its a lovely chunky classic bed and I'm sure my son with get years of good use out of it. I purchased the bed whilst there was an offer on and I am very pleased with the price for essentially two beds (mattresses bought separately). The delivery team were excellent, polite, wore overshoes to protect my carpets and put the bed together in a tight area without any grumbling. They checked I was happy with the bed and removed all the packaging. A faultless service by the delivery team.

The delivery and construction of my furniture was brilliant with the delivery team arriving on time and being very efficient. However after a few weeks the furniture bought showed signs of scratching and indentation. The materials used to construct the furniture are incredibly soft so the slightest touch by a harder material will dent the surface. The varnish used to the finish the range also scratches easily so within a few months of delivery and after spending over £1000 I have now tired looking furniture. Disappointed and certainly not fit for children.

I was very impressed with the delivery service. The delivery team phoned beforehand, arrived on time and were very efficient. Bed was assembled and old one taken away in 45 minutes. The men were very tidy, left no mess and wore overshoes in my house. Pleased with the bed too, just need to buy the mattresses for it now. Will definitely use M & S again.

Lovely bed, hideaway pulls out with ease. Looks and feels very sturdy. Cannot fault the delivery men and service, very courteous and efficient - couldn't believe how quickly they put it all together and took away the packaging. Great quality, lovely functional bed for my 10 y.o boy. Very happy with purchase, can recommend to everybody. We have chosen the mattress for the lower pull-out bed, what was recommended by M&S 20 cm deep, 190 cm long, which suites perfectly as well for the lower bed.

I bought this in the sale and didn't go to see the actual item before I purchased it, though I wish now that I had. I bought a hideaway bed from M&S for my son about four years ago. It has been hard wearing and solid and I was very impressed. They don't make that model anymore but I thought this model would be of the same quality. Unfortunately, the wood is very soft and is already marked in one place. The footboard being lower than the mattress is a little odd. Overall, I'm really disappointed but I will be more careful in future when I make a purchase from M&S.

We looked around a lot to find a hideaway bed in pine. This was definitely the best we found as not many have any matching furniture. Also the hideaway frame holds a normal single mattress. It is also built for you by the delivery men.
