This is a smart dress and would be good for workwear. However, not particularly forgiving if you are a bit bigger than average - like I am!

I have just recently returned to Office work, and wanted some suitable “day dresses” for work attire. I ordered 4 dresses online hoping they would fit the bill. The styles I chose are all similar to dresses I have purchased and wear regularly from Phase Eight, Jaeger etc are bodycon dresses, or have the twist in the middle style to hide a multitude of sins! When they arrived, the first thing I noticed was how thin the material was on all 4 dresses. Very cheap fabric and before I even tried them on. I quickly realised these were no quality dresses. I duly tried all of them on, and without exception, every single one is a poor design, nothing like the picture, look frumpy and badly fitting. I wear a standard size 16 everywhere else, and I even ordered the 18’s because of the previous size reviews saying they come up small. Even the 18’s were snug! All 4 dresses have been returned. These dresses personify what is wrong with M&S at the moment in women’s fashion, the buyers just do not get it right. The clothes are not quality anymore- the fabric of these dresses is akin to something off a cheap market. The styles are not flattering and fit extremely poor. Overall, extremely poor quality sadly. I will be returning to Phase Eight and Jaeger and only pay a slight amount more for excellent clothes I can trust and buy with confidence.

Lovely material,colour and fit but the length is to long so it just made me look frumpy. Reluctantly had to return it as I loved it in every other way.

A dress I would have really enjoyed wearing except it was advertised 0n-line as 'Midi' length and was only Regular length - as printed on the label. A bad error on the marketing side - very disappointed and therefore couldn't recommend it to friends looking for a Midi length.

This fully-lined, well-fitting dress looks extremely smart for work wear, or can be accessorised for a Winter's evening outing. It's well-cut, and looks good for the price. The false wrap-over looks like an interesting style detail. I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and expect to wear it on many occasions over the winter and Spring months.

I was really looking forward to receiving this dress as I wanted a Day dress. Unfortunately although the dress fitted true to size the colour didn’t suit me at all. It was too dark. I thought that for the price it was good quality and a nice style

I wish someone would check the website details! Other reviewers put 'length good' or 'ok for me' when the details are wrong on the description that does not help. So - this dress is 104cms from back of neck or 107cms taken from highest part of shoulder. For a bodycon that comes just below my knee (I am 5'3") I needed a size 12 as the dress is lined so not quite so much give the, quality of the material is good with a slight stretch, and feels quite warm , I love the colourway, a nice change for the winter from the usual blue or black. The drape across the front is attached at the shoulder and side seam and ends in a gathered fold effect on the left hand side -( the top and bottom of the drape not being attached to the main body of the dress)- it does hang loose a bit across the bust area but I think that could be improved for me with slight adjustment where it gathers, I will do this because overall I like the way it fits and it will be good to wear over christmas and also wearable after - not being glitzy. There are too many dresses that would only be suitable for partywear and as an older person I don't get to too many of those!

Visually this dress is a delight. It is also a good fit and very comfortable to wear. However, on the first occasion of wearing this dress, the hem unraveled. I am not happy!
