Really pleased to find some shoes on the high street that aren't completely rigid. The soles and leather have a little give in them for comfort. The shoes do scuff because they are leather, but I like the fact that they can be polished and look as good as new again. With patent or scuff-resistant shoes, once they do scuff there's not much you can do about it. They seem very sturdy and with regular polishing I think they will last well.

I used to be a big fan of M&S school shoes and recommended to my friends but the toes are already very scuffed just after two days of wear... I'm afraid at this point I will have to buy another pair again before my daughter is even going to out grow this size! I'm not impressed at all!

My daughter has had these for 9 months now and gives them a real beating at school. I agree with other reviews that they scuff badly and I do have to polish them regularly. Having said that I'm impressed that they have stayed in one piece for this long. I've bought more expensive branded shoes that have literally fallen apart in just half a term. For that reason I'd buy these again as they are a great style and seem comfortable.

The are first school shoes for my little one.The shoes are nice and stylish.The quality is very good-"considering at what my daughter does with them"-shi's very active. The product fit excellent. Only one little minus for that the price is little too much.

Bought for my daughter starting reception year in September. I liked the t-bar style and the softer feel leather. However,like the other reviewers noted, the shoes have scuffed badly from the very first wear. I end up using scuff polish almost every day she wears them, they look so bad. It is quite frustrating really. If M&S are genuinely not able to produce shoes that can withstand a term of school wear, then it may be an idea to only label a select few pairs for heavy duty school use. Then at least we could make a choice based on realistic expectations.

Got these shoes for my daughter who is 4 and thought i'd have to buy a new pair by Christmas but they still look great, they are a little scuffed but thats to be expected but a polish means they look great again. Very happy.

I loved these shoes as the leather was soft and I wanted my 3 year old to be comfortable in her first pair of school shoes. They looked good and were true to size. The main drawback about these shoes is that they get very scuffed everyday. My little girl only wears them inside for 3 hours and the toes get discoloured. I however just have to polish them up when she returns home and they look great again. I would not buy them again for this reason

When I saw these shoes I loved them. I liked the fact they were real leather, traditional looking and what seemed like a good price. I was also pleased to get away from the other well known school shoe supplier so they ticked all the boxes for me. However, after a few wears the leather faded terribly, they looked so old quickly. Thankfully, after I polished them up with they started to look like new again but every few days they fade really badly, especially if we have rain. I've never seen this happen with shoes so quickly before so I am disappointed by the colour pigment, it definitely needs more penetration into the leather. The only other thing to happen is the rubber font has torn slightly.

Bought these shoes for my five year old recently and so far so good ! My daughter is very active, often playing football in her school shoes, so they don't normally last her very long. They fitted brilliantly....... when ordering I chose sizes 8+9 as she's only just gone into a size 9 but when I picked them up from my local store the next day,, the size 9 were perfect. Reading the previous reviews has got me a little worried as to how long these shoes will last but my first impression is good, and I feel the extra £8 I've spent on these compared to her last school shoes is well worth it. They seem a much better quality and look great.

These shoes looked good and fit and liked the scuff resistant "promise", felt reassured that they'd be a good quality first pair of school shoes for my four year old. But VERY disappointed.! The shoes scuffed very easily, though polished up fine, but the week before half term, after only 5 weeks wear, the leather on one shoe has split through to the lining and part of the front sole edge peeled off! Plus the stitching on the straps coming away. They have not been heavily worn either as wore only for school and different shoes when wearing trousers for school in bad weather. Definitely very poor quality and value for 5 weeks wear. Took back to store but said "that's what happens to school shoes"!

I love the style of these shoes so much. They are very cute and my daughter loves them. They are comfortable and fit well. However this week is the second week my daughter is wearing her shoes. They look as though she has worn them for about 2months! The stitching is already coming away. The non-scuff is a LIE! The front goes green. Yes you can wipe them down but they look very old. I wouldn't recommend these shoes at all. Very disappointing for M&S.
