There’s something so charmingly formal about a boy in proper chinos. Jeans and jogging bottoms are all very well for the rough and tumble of everyday life, but a pair of tan-coloured chinos like Dad’s is what every boy needs. But these are not like Dad’s work trousers (no little boy needs those in his life just yet). These rugged chinos with a comfy elasticated waist are just the thing for all little wannabe explorers. They are a touch retro; think Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. The pockets are meant for filling with useful things – like boiled sweets and a compass to go off and find buried treasure. Add a pair of braces and a vintage-style printed shirt and your little hero will get right into character. Just don’t let him forget his binoculars.
