“I’ve loved working with the M&S team on my new swim collection,” says supermodel, businesswoman and long-time M&S design collaborator Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. “We’ve introduced a chic all-over spot print for spring and various tropical floral prints for summer. There are pops of colour as well as the new Miami panty shape, all of which will look great paired with one of my statement beach dresses.”

Effortless elegance

Soozie Jenkinson, head of lingerie and swim design, worked closely with Rosie on the collection. “Rosie and I love vintage shopping together and when we were researching this season we were both drawn to an exquisite antique Japanese shawl which became the inspiration behind the collection’s creative direction. The juxtaposition of stylised Asian-inspired florals against graphic spots makes this collection feel modern.”

Stand-out prints

From large-scale florals to more delicate, intricate patterns, print is a key feature of the range, but minimalists are also catered for with elegant, clean-lined black swimwear brought to life with considered details. “We have crafted bespoke rose gold and tortoiseshell-effect hardware to adorn each piece, including our signature silhouettes, such as the plunge and bandeau in swimsuits and bikinis,” Soozie explains.

New-season shapes

“We have also introduced new shapes, such as the high-cut Miami bikini bottoms and the strappy lace-up back swimsuit,” Soozie adds. The popular Miami bottoms nod to the Eighties revival and feature a V-shaped waistband at the front and the back, with a flattering high-leg cut. Slip these on and you’ll be ready to hit South Beach in no time at all.

Don’t just stop at swimsuits and bikinis. “Beach cover-ups are an elegant addition to any holiday capsule and create fluid silhouettes thanks to super-soft modal fabric,” Soozie says.
