FALL HOME DÉCOR TRENDS

Head of design Karen Thomas talks us through the latest interior design trends, from nature-inspired prints to Art Deco-inspired designs

Rustic style

“Our homes need to be places where we can work, socialise, retreat and support busy and growing families. We design with four house styles in mind – casual, classic, glamorous and modern – and this collection picks up on the overarching mood of a relaxed, more informal home. Our reconnection with nature is reflected in colour, print and pattern. Greens and duck-egg blues are complemented by laundered linen tones and soft ochres, while patterns are inspired by country meadows and wildlife, with acorns, bees and butterflies appearing on throw pillows and bedding.”

Modern heritage

“Our boldest collection of the season sees rich oxblood and berry tones mixed with softer blush pink. Patterns are inspired by archive florals, exotic birds, fantastical jungle bugs and butterflies, which appear printed and embroidered on rich velvets and in supersized scale on bedding. Key textures to look out for are marble and brass, which add depth and contrast against the rich palette. You’ll see a nod to Art Deco-inspired pieces across our soft furnishings and new home accessories.”

Vintage glamour

“With a pared-back palette of pebble and grey tones and accent colours of anthracite and blush pink, this collection has a timeless appeal. Patterns mix Art Deco-inspired geometric and shell-like motifs with leaf and animal-inspired designs. Textiles are soft and luxurious – think silks and velvets. You’ll see pintucks and button detailing on throw pillows and bolsters to add interest.”

Mid-century bold

“Rooted in Scandi simplicity, this is a modern, seasonless collection. We’ve bought colour-blocked geometric prints up to date with a fresh colour palette of luminous shades and pops of bright pastels that sits easily with a neutral backdrop. Choose furniture that mixes clean lines, blonde wood tones and white. If you’re looking to upgrade your working-from-home set-up or sorting their college packing list, look to handy home accessories that can be used in multiple ways.”
