Gres des Oliviers Costières de Nîmes
Vintage: 2016
This rich Southern French red offers bold aromas of ripe berries, plums and juicy cherries. The palate is nicely balanced, with kirsch and redcurrant notes.
About this bottle: The Costières de Nîmes appellation lies between two of Southern France’s largest regions: the Rhône Valley and the Languedoc. Situated near the ancient city of Nîmes in the Gard department, home to the magnificent Pont Du Gard Roman aqueduct. the appellation is spread across the western Rhône delta, with its vineyards interspersed amongst the area’s lavender fields and orchards. While Costières de Nîmes was once part of the Languedoc, its terroir is closer to that of the Southern Rhône with its pebbly soils and Mediterranean climate. This wine is a classic Southern Rhône blend of Syrah and Grenache, enriched with a little of the more typical Languedoc grapes Carignan and Cinsault.

Flor de Crasto
Vintage: 2016
A fresh and vibrant Portuguese dry white with aromas of white fleshed peaches, citrus, tropical fruits and even a hint of chamomile. The palate is crisp and ripe, with good balance and a chalky mineral quality on the finish.
About this bottle: Quinta do Crasto is one of the largest and most famous wineries in Portugal’s Douro Valley. Located in the heart of the Cima Corgo, the 400-year-old estate’s south facing vineyards rise dramatically up from the Douro river over 600 metres, with the vines clinging precariously to the steeply terraced schistous slopes. The grapes for this wine, a blend of traditional Portuguese varieties Rabigato, Códega do Larinho and Viosinho, were harvested from selected vineyard plots within the estate, where the average age of the vines is 20 years. Winemaker Manuel Lobo had the grapes gently pressed in the winery before the juice was fermented at low temperatures to retain all its fruity character. He used no oak to emphasise the fruit’s quality.

Maria Adelaide Nero d'Avola Syrah
Vintage: 2014
A deep and intense Sicilian red with a rich bouquet of autumn berries, plums, spices and green pepper flavours which carry onto the full, rounded and elegant palate.
About this bottle: The Nero d’Avola and Syrah grapes for this wine come from vineyards between Marsala and Mazara del Vallo in the province of Trapani. Lying at around 150m above sea level, the sun-baked vineyards are tempered by fresh sea breezes that cool the vines and help the grapes to ripen beautifully. The wine is a collaboration between Baglio’s winemaker Nino Reina and consultant Alberto Antonini, bringing together 30 years of Sicilian winemaking expertise. The wine was aged for around six months in French oak.

Elsa Bianchi Cabernet Sauvignon
Vintage: 2017
A classic Cabernet Sauvignon with a bouquet of autumn berries, black pepper, dried herbs and cedar wood over a soft, juicy medium-bodied palate with a vanilla finish.
About this bottle: San Rafael lies in the south of Argentina’s Mendoza region. Vineyards here sit at around 750 metres and benefit from the powerful South American sun and cool mountain air that helps create balance in the grapes. The fruit for this wine comes mainly from the Doña Elsa Estate in Ram Caída, where the grapes are hand harvested to maintain their delicate berry aromas. Winemaker Facundo Pereyra left the wine unoaked so the clarity and quality of the fruit is at the fore.
