Don't be fooled by the pictures. I bought the grey and they're practically khaki, but that doesn't bother me (it might you). Also much much more baggy than they look in the pics. Fitted nicely round the waist but only because experience tells me to order 3-4" smaller than the tape measure tells me my expanding waist actually is. Tape says 39 or 40", ordered 36" - fit me perfectly. I don't understand it but I'm used to it at least. All retailers seem to do it now. Maybe they're trying to make us feel better about ourselves. Quality seems really good and they're really comfortable too. All in all I'm happy I bought them.

Simple longer shorts

Longer shorts are in low supply this summer as the trend is for a briefer styles this does not suit a lot of men, both young and old. Thrilled to have found these as they can be worn with T shirts and look good for casual occasions in sunny weather. Wish there were more like this about, perhaps in denim! Fit is good and they fall on the knee, not just above it. Great!

Not really 3/4 length! They come just below the knee. M&S should take their supplier to task on the length & penny pinching on the material. Got them in the sale for £17.50 but would not pay full price for them.

I bought a grey pair for my husband and he was so pleased with them that I bought the navy pair too! They are a good fit, cool and smart and comfy - and great value at £17.50. He likes them so much he asked if there were any other colours - unfortunately not - but who knows if there is demand perhaps neutral ones will appear!

I have bought a few pairs of these shorts, already had a collection but had to renew due to losing weight, I found these shorts nic and leightweight, but not as long as in previous versions, not sure if good or bad, they are however a nicer cut than the previous versions not so baggy. If you like linen shorts then these are a good buy

These shorts are a good 3" shorter than a pair I purchased 2 years ago. Just reach the knee, definitely not 3/4 length. Looks like penny pinching on the material!

These shorts look fine in the photograph but the material was not up to M and S standard at all. Very badly creased and even after ironing they still looked creased and not at all smart. Have never purchased anything which looked so bad ever. Would not recommend.
