EDITOR'S NOTES

These innovative Magicwear™ slimming shorts provide firm control to help slim and smooth your thighs with no side seams, eliminating any unwanted signs of VPL. A supportive front panel to these control briefs flattens the tummy and has stretch for ease of movement, while the clever 'bum lift' gives you a gorgeous shape. A high-rise waistline and 100% cotton gusset work together perfectly to provide a comfortable and secure wear and the adjustable power band offers medium to light support to complement your natural shape.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disapppinted. I was very disappointed with these shapewear pants. I have worn the previous version of magicwear thigh slimmers and been pleased with them. I have always purchased a size 10 but these were much too tight both on the waist and on my legs- I haven't put any weight on! I tried them on under a pair of slim leg trousers and the seams down the front of my thighs were visible, you could also see the seam down the bum, which I have never experienced with other shapewear. On the plus side they did give a good lift to my bum and slimmed my tummy, but I will be sending them back as they were uncomfortable and also because of the seams showing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nightmare ladies night I bought these to wear under a long sequin dress on a very special occasion ladies night. I bought my size 20 as I wanted them to give me a smoother line, which they did. But after about 10 minutes of walking around the legs rolled up turning them into control brief ..... not my aim and very uncomfortable. I adjusted twice in the loo but by the time I’d got back to my table the rolling up had started again. I spent the whole evening sitting at my table wanting to dance but couldn’t because they were so uncomfortable. I will be taking them back for a refund as definitely “not fit for purpose”. Very disappointed as I can usually rely on Marks ☹️

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable enough to wear all day On the label of these it says "buy your true dress size". Now, thing is, I can be anything from an 18 to a 22 in M&S, but my M&S knicker size is 16, so I really wasn't sure what to get. I mostly wanted these to just give me some bum and tum support, and stop thigh chafe, so I went for a size 20 and hoped for the best. They're easy to get on, there are seams but I didn't find they caused any irritation, and the legs didn't ride up. I wore them for almost 12 hours at a wedding and they were really comfortable. I'd like something like this to wear more often but at the price I'll probably have to hope some of the light control ones come back in stock in my size as I can't really be rolling out in £30 pants every day!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life saver This item is proving a great help to me. I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago, since then I have developed an abdominal flap as it’s called. It weighs 3lbs and makes me very tired plus the fact it just hangs there. This garment is helping me as it comes low under my flap and gives it support which helps with the weight of the flap. It is much better than just having pants as they tend to ride up. They may not look glamorous but I have struggled for any support the last 5 Year’s so I am very pleased I found them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't do the job I've bought shape wear from M&S before that I've really liked but I'm afraid this didn't do the job all all. The geometric pattern looks nice but the control panels don't cover the whole problem areas (eg tummy). This means you end up with a flat area with lumps sticking out at intervals! Not the look I was going for. It went straight back as I expected more for the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely poor quality These come up very small, as others have said. I bought a size up from my normal size and they were still too small. Uncomfortable to wear and dig in and create rolls - not what shapewear is designed to do! I wore these about 5-6 times and the lower front panel ripped and the seams frayed. Very poor, I expect much better from M&S.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from new style I've worn these for years never any problems. Needed to get new ones, new styles are nothing like as comfortable or good as old designs have tried various ones all the same had to return and gone back to old ones I have . Very let down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow Bought these to wear under pencil skirts as I always get VPL even with 'no VPL' knickers, so thought shorts would be good. I don't need the high waist ones as my waist is fine. Wow these work well! Bought a size larger as have bought shapewear in my normal size previously and found it to be difficult to get on (poked a hole in it with my finger pulling) and wear. These are much easier to get on and give a nice shape, the ends of the legs are a bit tight so I end up with the 'sausage' effect slightly but nowhere near as bad as with my cycling shorts and can't be seen through clothes. Haven't worn for an extended period yet so can't comment on longevity. Thought they were a bit expensive but if they last they will definitely be worth it.
