5 Pack Cool & Fresh™ Cotton Rich Sports Socks is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Thin and small These are thin and much smaller than marked on the package. They also don't rise very high at all. (They're practically ankle socks.) So they are uncomfortable wearing even with low boots. Not sure how they can be classed as 'sports' socks when the thickness is about the same as a dress sock.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from M&S decline in quality and sizing continues I have bought size 9 & 1/2 M&S socks for literally decades until recently, like many other customers, I have started to experience severe problems with both the initial size / fit and subsequent serious shrinking after washing. After struggling on for many weeks with socks sold as being suitable for 6 to 9 & 1/2 which had shrunk so much that it was difficult to get them on and off again I finally gave up, admitted defeat, and purchased the next size up in a couple of different styles. Socks which had many more months of usable wear in them (very much "nearly new" in effect to be honest) were placed on an ever-increasing pile of other underwear** ready to be laundered and recycled via the charity shop. [** Yes, the size issue is a problem for other underwear as well. Not only are the sizes woefully smaller than they used to be but now they fall down as well! (And that's after they "improved" things in the wake of Jeremy Paxman's public intervention a couple of years ago!] Expecting my new socks to be somewhat over-sized, sloppy and ill-fitting to begin with I resolved to put up with this until the inevitable widely reported shrinking took effect, but imagine my consternation when I found that the "size 10-12" that I purchased were a perfect fit on my 9 & 1/2 foot. Hardly a good start, as it leaves me with nowhere to go when they shrink. I now await the outcome of the first few laundry cycles to see what happens but I am very far from hopeful. This never used to be the case. Time was when M&S socks were the gold standard for top quality and could be relied upon for many years of shrink-free wear. As others have reported, these socks are very thin for a sports sock. For the ordinary general purpose day-to-day use that I put them to this is not a problem for me personally, but I can see how it would be less desirable for a heavy duty sports related session. How can M&S continue to get such basics so wrong for so long? As a loyal customer of many years I will now be looking elsewhere for my socks and as a result they will also lose the revenue due to me picking up other items at the same time - including visits to the food section.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Value for money sports socks At £5 for a pack of five pairs these socks offer good value for the price paid. I have only tried them on, not actually worn them for any length of time so I don't know how comfortable or durable they are. A criticism I have, and one that I often find these days with clothes is that the plastic barbs fastening the socks together was so small that it was difficult to cut without damaging the socks and unfortunately a thread was pulled in one of them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but not that good I always purchase "sports socks" instead of ordinary socks, I find them more comfortable usually, although there is a wide range of types that come under the banner heading of sports socks! These are a good example of that in that they are a little on the thin side for true sports socks, but they fit well enough and are comfortable. The price was right so I consider them an OK purchase if not a brilliant one.
