Rated 1 out of 5 by from GOOD IDEA, AWFUL EXECUTION M&S Trunks in my view are generally best in market bar none including stupidly overpriced designer stuff (of which I have several). The cool & fresh range are near perfect and with brighter colours would be (in my view). The modal material reallycould take them up a notch again but.....the fit is different, tighter, smaller on waist, the keyhole fly is less functional (smaller, tighter - do these things never get tested M&S?). Worst of all, the make up has a non flat seam running up the centre rear giving that awful constant ‘wedgie’ feel. Why not simply ask whoever makes the Cool & Fresh range to use exactly same methods but with the modal material (and brights) - they would be perfect. As these are; returned unusable & awful. If anyone at M& S actually reads & takes any notice of these reviews, please let me know.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Changed design and position of seams I've bought these trunks for several years after other M&S trunks had design changes on the seams, and always found them most comfortable. I checked the photos again before placing the order and they were the same as usual. When they arrived I'm glad I checked before washing them (always do this with new clothes), as I found that some seams had been re-positioned at the back, instead of a single centre seam it is now 2 offset seams and now have this open cross stitch along the seam, which I know from past experience on other M&S designs, is like sandpaper after a couple of hours wear. I have returned them for a full refund and will now have to buy from elsewhere. It is a shame that M&S poor design changes has resulted in one more lost customer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what they were Bought these for 15 years. They’re not made nearly as well as they used to be, my most recent pairs came apart on leg steams after about 3 months and have developed holes on inside leg and rear after 4 months. Don’t know what’s wrong with them. Also I used to have size M, bought a new set and we’re tiny. I’m a 34 waist. I’m now a Large in these despite not changing waist size or weight. Looking for a better made alternative elsewhere which are still this style, material and comfort (not easy to find) shame because they were my forever pants!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cotton blend trunks Have been buying these for years and always been delighted with all aspects. For some reason they are now shorter with a metal clip attached to the belt area which serves no purpose. Why change a good product?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still good.... Have been buying these for my husband for many years as I always feel these Autograph trunks had the edge over the other styles. Latest delivery look the same and style the fit the same. However, material definitely thinner and not sure if they will last as long as previous buys. Still rate this as 5 stars for overall style and fit....but marked down a star on quality. Have you changed suppliers M & S?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed customer Although not labelled as hipsters hubby regarded them as such and as he prefers traditional styles which sit on the waist he was very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Spoilt by a metal tag Why the nasty metal tag sewn to the waistband of M&S mens' underpants ? That's the last place I want anything metallic. It's very fiddly to remove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Supima Trunks I'm always a bit bewildered when it comes to buying underpants at M&S because there are so many 'brands' snd styles, on the website, even if you only choose black! Why so many M&S? It's so confusing. This is the worst thing you can do, as it will drive potential customers away. However, I've found a way around that little conundrum. I bought a pair of these trunks around 18 months ago and was very pleased with them. So I searched for the same item using the T14/5167A Style number in the website search window. It gave me the option of the 2 pack or 3 pack set in a trice. The previous day I'd tried to find them manually, and unsuccessfully, for over half an hour and gave up. It's not just an M&S problem, because I find this with other retail websites too. A job that should be done if a few minutes can end up taking hours. Having said all that, these are easily the best trunks I've ever bought. They are very comfortable, fit well, and are well made. The only difference I could find between these trunks and the previous pair was that the new ones had the style details printed on the inside of the trunks, rather than using a separately stitched label. I thoroughly recommend them, and they're available in white too.
