Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing Ordered these online expecting the ones with pockets. These are totally different, no pockets and material much thinner than the previous two pack of shirts I bought. Another reviewer commented about the strange pleat on the back of the shirt, agree it is unusual and not in a good way! Also these are described as non iron on the website but on the packaging they are "easy to iron" - I can safely say they are not! I won't be buying these again and will wait for the better quality non iron shirts with the breast pocket to be made available again. Very frustrating as M&S is always my go-to for school uniform.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Preferred the old darted Slim Fit shirts I have searched in the sales for the old slim fit shirts with darts but not found any in the size I needed. Bought these instead but my son didn't like them. The pleat at the back doesn't provide the fit that the darts did. My son hated the pleat so they went back. Please reinstate the old slim fit shirts with darts in the back and no pockets on the front! The quality of these shirts also isn't as good - very thin cotton. They won't last as long.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed. I have been buying this product for the last few years for my son. In the past it was a lovely soft thick cotton slim fit shirt and my son and I werr always very pleased with it. For some reason this year it has been changed to an extremely thin see-through nasty cotton. As I’ve taken time to review, it would be great if someone from M&S could reply and explain what has happened and if this inferior product is temporary measure. My son does need new shirts but at £48 for the 6 shirts he requires, I’d rather return these and wait for a better product to become available. Alternatively I will return them and buy the same quality at less cost elsewhere.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from School shirts Really sad this year as for the last 10 years have always purchased school shirts from M&S, I still absolutely love them, this year I ordered 6 shirts to find they are now pinned together with thread instead of a plastic clip, when I cut the thread it leaves a small hole which I know will become bigger after every wash, even went to the store hoping they sell them without this but its a new thing, I wouldn't even mind them rolled up in a pack without any pin as long as it doesn't have that thread. So had to look else where this year, hope something changes as I would like to continue purchasing with you due to great quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit disappointed I’ve been buying this shirts for my son for the last few years and was always very pleased with them as they fit perfectly . My son is now 15 and the size 15-16 he has been wearing started to get a bit tight around his shoulder - he’s 6 foot tall. The next size up is the collar size 16”. Unfortunately there’s a big difference between the 15-16 years old and this one- it fits around the neck well , however it is very wide everywhere else. Its not a slim fit shirt anymore - it’s baggy. There should be another size in between the 15-16 years and this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from long arms unfortunately I have had to return these shirts as the sleeves are too short for my 6ft 1' son, he's only 15 but he has long arms, we struggle to get shirts to fit, he is also slim but I would say the shirts were tight round his chest. Please M&S make shirts for tall teenage boys, mens shirts are too expensive and children's shirts are too small. thank you

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top marks Great choice for fashion conscious teenager. Liked the detail especially the grey trim inside neckline, the back pleat and the lack of pocket adds up to a very different item than the normal school shirt. Fits well but only when went for the collar size rather than age. Sleeves a bit tight but keeps the slim look. Noted that some reviews mention material too thin, but all poly cotton white shirts are a bit see through and also not an issue if son wears over a tee shirt, which also helps with washing and perspiration!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slim fit shirts no longer different During the summer I bought a 2 pack of 13-14 years, slim fit shirts for my 14-year-old son. They fitted him perfectly. The non-slim fit ones appeared to be the same size in the body but have shorter arms so didn't fit. He needed another 2 shirts so I recently ordered another 2 pack of slim fit shirts only to discover, once I'd opened them and thrown out the receipt and packaging, that the slim fit shirts are now the same as the ordinary shirts used to be so the sleeves were too short for my son. Too late, with no receipt or packaging, to take them back. £15 down the drain. I have now ordered a 2 pack of age 14-15 slim fit shirts that I hope will be long enough in the sleeve and won't drown him (he is very slim). I have asked this before but will ask again: M&S - it would be fantastic if you could keep one of all your kids sizes, unwrapped, in each of your major stores for kids to try on. That way, with one visit to a store, we could get be sure that we are ordering the right sizes. This would save you having to take things back so often and would save us parents a lot of time, money and stress. The M&S range of sizes and styles for school clothes is great but please consider doing this. It would make parents' lives a lot easier.
