Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too thin! I bought these again as last year's outlasted a competitor's version. However, this year, I was shocked at just how thin these now are. Because they were so good last year, it didn't occur to me to check whilst buying and only became obvious as I was sewing name labels in them ready for start of term. I would never have expected this from M&S and is the same for both sizes I bought (9-10 & 5-6) I would never buy a pair of trousers for myself that are this thin let alone put children in these for Autumn/Winter term. I'll be surprised if the colour of their underpants doesn't show through. I'm really disappointed and I will not be buying again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality! I’ve been buying M&S uniform since 2010 but since last year, I’ve seen massive drop in the quality of the products. Sizes are not accurate and they start fading after couple of washes. I’ve been using these trousers in blue, black and grey for my 2 boys for last many years. Never had a problem. This time, at first place when I opened the delivery bag, I found out that material was very rough. I still kept them. I had to hem the trousers as they were a bit long. After one wash, they shrank almost 2 inches. Now they are faded after few washes and had to throw them away. There is no stretch in the fabric especially in the waist area. I’ve changed my mind and have started to buy uniform items from other brands.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Thin and creases like nothing I've ever had before Made the mistake of saving a few pound by buying the pack of 2, thinking they were same trousers as the individual trousers which are far superior quality. These are absolutely dreadful and wouldn't recommend to anyone. The creases are impossible to get out and even after ironing dont look great and look worse after day in school as crease easy. Pay extra few pound more and get the individual ones. Bought individual ones from m&s last 7 years, lovely and thicker and hardly need to iron at all. Avoid these! The style is same as individual (latch grip) which is ideal and much easier than buttons but that's as far as id recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What has happened to M&S school trousers?! I have always purchased M&S school trousers for my son. Sadly, this year, they have decided to coat the trousers in some kind of indestructable coating which makes them hard and without any movement. The smell of the dressing is also disgusting. I had to keep them as school was about to start and I couldn;t find any in his size anywhere else. I have so far washed them 3 times and they still stink. They are also stiff as anything. Why do we have to have indestructable trousers?! I need there to be some movement in them and it now means they are entirely man made material which I am not happy about - do they breathe? Am most unhappy with this supposed 'improvement' in the design.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Huge These are enormous; it looks as though my son could get both legs into one leg. As well as having massive amounts of material in each leg which looked daft they swamped him round the waste which when adjusted to fit meant there was loads of bulked up material round his waste. They looked awful; like clown trousers. The trousers themselves are fine, good quality material and a good length but they're massive so he won't be wearing them. Instead I ordered the slim fit trousers for the next age group down and these are much better; still a little too much material in the leg but a lot better than the two pack. I suppose you get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best school trousers My little boy really put his school trousers through their paces and I have to wash them each time he wears them as he is a dirt magnet. An average pair he owns will be washed and tumble dried around 40 times before he grows out of them Yet the trousers survive whole school years without showing signs of wear, without holes and without the stitching coming apart. The creases remain intact, despite the fact I never iron them. They are also really easy for him to put on and take off by himself. The adjustable waist is useful as they come up rather wide and short, but they make my life so much easier. I am constantly amazed by how much they can withstand and still look new.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Boys School Trousers - grey The material is soft and feels gentle on the skin, unlike many school trousers from supermarkets. I have bought these trousers for my son before and I do like them. My only issue is the knees of the trousers; holes have appeared on (the previous) two pairs of the trousers within three and a half months of wear. I think it would be a good idea if M&S would reinforce the knee area of their school trousers, as we all know little boys often fall over and slide about on their knees at school. Over the last five years I have always bought M&S school trousers as I know I can rely on good quality, but I'm wondering if quality of the material has gone down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Boys school trousers I usually buy all my uniform from m&s. Sadly, these were very fine, even see through, and not anywhere near the normal quality. I opened one packet and put them in the was, so cannot return them, but I will be returning the others. Really awful. See them in store before you buy as they fall far short of the usual quality.
