Pure Silk Patch Pocket Shirt Midi Dress

Beautiful was my first thought. Felt the fabric between finger and thumb and thought high quality, nicely tailored and delightful to handle. Then I tried it on and it draped well, was generous in length and the only quibble is tension ie a straining button in the fullest part of the cleavage. Had to wait to try it on for cool weather as worried about sweat staining. I have not laundered it yet and will have to cosset it. There used to be speacial products for wool and silk laundering eg woolite so will have to look out for it.

Very unflattering dress for sizes 18-20. Upper body is quite fitted, but the skirt is very big, skater style and extremely short, if you are tall it won't even cover your knees. In this kind of model it should be midi (surely longer than knee lenght). If you make it so short it should be more relaxed on the upper body. Anyhow i'm size 18 curvy hourglass and prefer good midi length. Similar model in black is much better, although could be something longer.

I bought this style in blue and now this - it is amazing quality and just love the feel of the material, it is a bit pricy but I managed to get both at least half price

I managed to get this dress in the sale. I had wanted it for ages but thought it was a bit too expensive. It has been worth the wait and I love it. It’s a lovely colour.

What a lovely dress, it fitted beautifully and was a lovely length. This is a classic style with an elegance about it. Lovely length. The colour was good. I was happy with how it looked on. I felt slimmer as it was well made and fitted beautifully.

This 'frock' ticked my box as I prefer a natural fabric which is breathable in all weathers. It is a pleasant colour and can be accessorised with black, dark brown or pale neutrals, even navy. A scarf in contrasting colours would add another variable look!

I am sorry I had to return the dress. I'm normally between a size 20 at the top of my body and 22 at the bottom half. So has I ordered a size 22 I was surprised that the dress was fine at the bottom on the waist and hips but the top area was far to small and gaped over the bust, just not suitable which was a shame as I have other garments in the Autograph range which are fine so I think the style and measurements were wrong. What a pity.

I so wanted to love this but was just a bit underwhelmed. A bit tight around the bust . The belt didn’t really fit or stay fastened . It could have been a classic but the fabric could have been a little heavier in weight. Maybe it was me . But even though I purchased it in the sale it was returned .

I would not describe it as midi. I'm 5'4" tall, a standard size 12, smaller in M&S, particularly Autograph. However I definitely needed the 12 for the top half, 10 would have been tight on the bust. The 'midi' length was just below the knee, if I was any taller, it would have been too short. It's longer on the model! The skirt is a-line from the waist. Looks good cinched in with a leather belt rather than the silk fabric one. Timeless style. Happy to recommend with sale price.
