Pure Silk Tie Waist Shirt Dress

Material is a lovely lightweight silk, however I am petite and it absolutely swamped me! I think for a size 6 it should be shorter and cut smaller. But alas a lovely dress that would suit a larger woman.

What I like about this dress is that it's a decent length on me - I'm 5'9". It has pockets and it's versatile. I wore it today to my Mum's funeral. She was 98 and was ready to go after having pneumonia - but had asked me what I would wear. I said I wouldn't let her down and I didn't. The dress was beautiful.

I bought this dress in the sale so it is very good value for money. It is beautifully soft good quality silk which I found only minimally creases on wearing it. I expect creases in silk - after all, it is a natural fibre, not polyester, which, to all intents and puposes is reconstituted plastic. I found my normal size too large, so reordered and sized down and it then skims and it then drapes well, so is faltering. The so called small sized cuffs of other reviewers were not an issue with me - and I have large wrists. I have worn it as a light summer coat coverup over the M & S silk sleeveless swing dress ( (also not my usual style, but again drapes well withe fluidity that is flattering) and look forward to Autumn wear as a dress. As ££'s per wear, therefore exceptionally good value. More natural fibres please!

No lining, when will m&s learn we expect lining in higher priced items. Just basic consideration please Minimal fabric to achieve size stated.

Loved it but try as I may, I couldn't get it to look like the picture. I'm short and a size 14 and it didn't matter if I wore it with the belt tied, front or back, or a leather belt or without a belt it just didn't impress anyone I showed because of the way it draped on me. The material is beautiful, so very fed up!

This dress is good value for a reasonable quality silk crepe, although as other reviewers have said it arrives creased. A quick iron on a low temperature sorts that and I don't think it will crease too readily on wearing. It feels comfortable and is ideal for warm weather. My intention is to layer this with lightweight palazzo trousers or straight legs. Will probably wear it unbuttoned over a light top so have carefully unpicked the belt carriers as the belt is redundant, and may add some darts in the back to give a little shape. So, with a little tweaking it is great, you just need to style it to suit you.

I am a fashion conscious oldie. I am 5 foot five inches tall, a petite build. I suspect this is quite average. The fabric was great, but the dress swamped me. It was far too long and very long in the waist. I have had to return it

Really lovely dress. Beautifully soft fabric and not thin or transparent. Hangs well. Packs well and travels well. Can be dressed up or down - a great addition for a recent business trip with a jacket for day and more jewellery and heels for evening. Can't recommend enough - and you can hand wash it!!!!

Disappointed, great dress spoiled completely by the small cuff. Loads of material in the dress but no allowance to move the buttons on the cuff. Too tight for me. I have sturdy frame. I have had to return the dress. Such a thoughtless omission on your part. Why did this happen? Would recommend to anyone with small wrists.
