Leda Task Floor Lamp

Good lamp bought in the sale so very good value very pleased with it

The first lamp arrived and there was a part missing. A replacement was sent out to me but bits of concrete fell out of the base and the fastenings could not support the weight of the lampshade.

Although the picture shows the flex hanging free the instructions implied it went down the whole stand. The actual lamp would only hold in one position. When it was dipped or elevated it fell down. I

After assembling, correctly, the angled head did not stay in position. Therefore returned to the store!

This lamp has ended up in the bin. Within a week it would not hold in position and would ‘flop’ even with card support inserted by the screw tightened. I had resorted to tying it with a piece of ribbon so that the light would be lifted sufficiently for it to be serviceable. Thoroughly disappointed with this lamp.

We bought this a few months ago and we are very disappointed. As other reviews have stated the screws to fix the angle are not tight enough so we cannot get it to hold any position. I expected much much better of M&S.

I purchased the Leda Task Floor Lamp online and it is unusable in that the mechanisms used in order to put the lamp head in place are way too loose, so the lamp head keeps falling down . I am still awaiting a response from M & S

I love the look of this lamp, very modern, and minimalist, but unfortunately the screw adjustment holding up the shade does not screw tightly enough, and the head moves, also the plug on this item is appalling, it came with a label that was already torn off. it looks cheap and tatty, very disappointing (see photo)

There have been comments about this mechanism on the Leda desk lamp. It is the same mechanism for the floor lamp. For the two lamps we had delivered neither mechanism worked. No matter how tightly the screws were turned they did not hold the arm in place and it would fall forward. BTW, we ordered one of each of the two colours and received two of the same colour.

I have put this together with ease. However I believe the instructions are for another model so beware. According to the supplied instructions with this lamp (model 522 supposed; is it?) the cable has to be fed through the metal standing poles and through the heavy foot stand. This is impossible with the supplied model as the plug and floor switch are already fitted and there is nowhere for the cable to go even if I took it apart, as the angle of the floating positioning arm would make feeding the cable down the supports impossible. The lamp feels heavy, safe and solid and I love the minimalist elegant design. No lamp bulb yet (none supplied) that's another story. Off to the lamp guy, lumens not watts! Halogen out these days, CFLs? 1XE27? oh, dear a 25watt 60 pence bulb anyone.
