Leather Lace-up Brogue Shoes

I'm really disappointed with these shoes. When I first saw them, they were just what I was looking for. Sadly, the reality was very different. I tried the shoes, they fitted and appeared comfortable, but after wearing them for just 10 minutes the hard leather began to cut into one of my heels leaving me with a bad blister. I then tried adjusting my gait and this caused swelling elsewhere on my foot. I have returned the shoes immediately as they are not fit for purpose and are an embarrassment to M&S. The lesson to be learned is that these belong at the budget end of proper leather shoes with proper soles and heels and even then are not worth the price tag - unless you like blisters. The sad reality - any my recommendation - is that the extra £40-50 you could invest in a much superior product will be handsomely worth it. These shoes are a poor immitation of other brands I could mention. You can't put a price on being able to walk comfortably! Summing up in three words: don't buy them!! And, yes, the blisters still hurt.

Nice shoes but colour not as advertised. Image shows a very rich tan and shoe is in fact a dull brownish colour. Would thoroughly recommend not buying online and seeing them in person in store. Told this to staff and on twitter and nobody really wanted to know.

Very stylish good quality at a reasonable price

Comfortable fit from first wearing. Quality feels and looks good. Held off on 5 stars because I've only had them for a couple of weeks.

Very good design, with captoe broguing and oxford lacing. A streamlined shoe without being overly boxy or indeed too slim though the toebox. The leather is smooth and can be polished well after being worn A very nice colour, a very rich tan. Responds well to water, though affects the colour of the leather until it dries- non permanent damage. Caused a lot of rubbing in the heel for about a week and a half, be careful to break them in properly before wearing them for long periods of time. Plasters were needed. The heel provides good grip, with little slippage, though with icy conditions more substantial shoes would be required as only the heel provides traction. A stylish shoe with plenty of character.
