Leather Backpack Bag

Ordered when half price in sale. Zip almost impossible to open. Very stiff which I could probably have sorted but overhanging leather edge strip made zip difficult to access & sure this would have made it a pain to use.

I bought this in the sale and although the leather and the quality are great, the design lets it down. The top zip is positioned beneath the top 'flap' which is a firm part of the bag, making it very difficult to access. A real shame that such a quality item was let down by poor design which could have been avoided if someone had actually tried to use it in the production stage.

Nice medium size leather backpack. However, the zip into the main part of the bag is so stylishly concealed that it was quite awkward to access. It didn't help that the zip did not run at all smoothly. I had to return as I knew this would be too irritating. This is the second time I have had a bag from M&S with one of these nice looking chunky gold zips and that one didn't run at all well either.

Soft leather with plenty of compartments. Not too big so it feels like a handbag not a piece of travel luggage. It has a useful large back slip pocket and wide straps which sit comfortably on the shoulder. Love it.

I had been “visiting” this bag for a while before I took the plunge and actually bought it. I’m not someone who can afford to make this kind of purchase lightly, but I wanted a good quality backpack that was going to last me for quite a few years. I’ve gone through quite a few cheap bags and, in these days of reducing waste, it didn’t sit well with me that these bags were no doubt ending up in landfill. So I decided to invest in a bag that will last. I’m really pleased with the quality of the materials and how well it has been put together. Hopefully I’ll still be using this gorgeous backpack in five years!

I received this backpack bag today and I’m really pleased with it, I chose the black as I have a m/s bag I purchased a few weeks ago in tan and it’s more like an orange colour so don’t need another orange /tan bag, I also have a larger autograph backpack with a draw cord I bought last year, but although that is a lovely backpack quite large, it was a little big and I needed a smaller one and this one is a lovely size but still big enough for essentials and for everyday use, the leather will soften up as it’s used, and yes the zip is a bit sticky but I’m sure it will become easier the more it is used, a little on the expensive side but it is leather, I wish M&S would do free delivery on certain expensive items though as that adds up to a more expensive item, (say over £50 ) as it’s not our fault that a lot of shops are being closed , I’m sure they would still make a lot of profit, but I do love this item,.

Like other reviews I found the zip very stiff but after rubbing some candle wax over it eventually the zip has become a lot looser to use. Although my bag is quite heavy putting it on my bag has lightened it a lot and I don’t feel as though I am carrying anything. Very comfortable to wear I am very happy with it

This is a great bag - just what I needed. The only issue was that the zip around the top is very stiff. Hopefully it will loosen off with use. A bit pricey but I think it will last a long time.

This backpack bag looks good and is a good size to use like a handbag. However, not only are the zips very stiff, mentioned by other customers, but the leather is very stiff too. For me, that caused difficulties in opening up and removing things from inside. Also, having a black lining it was difficult to see the contents of the bag. I prefer this design with zips to one that has a drawstring closure and would like to see similar with less rigid fabric and a bright or light coloured lining.

If you want a bag that no one will be able to get into this is the one. The zips are so tight and hard to use that I wonder if the correct ones have been used. They provide a design feature of sorts (gold colour) but are far from easy to use, so style over substance. The bag is also on the small side, a tablet might fit inside but definitely not a laptop
