Lovely dress, but creases easily

Lovely dress, especially the pockets, but material is v creased when out of the wash! A diff M&S summer school dress that we have doesn't need ironing at all.

Disappointing

No, I don't recommend this
Dress is good quality but it is let down by the quality of the buttons and the buttonholes. Both are in the wrong place so if the wearer is stretching or turning the button pops open. This is on a normal size of child.

Great quality fabric and good fit

Lovely quality fabric. True to size. Looks very smart on my 5 year old. My only complaint is not enough buttons. The bottom gapes open a little so could do with an extra button. But it's still the best looking school dress we've bought

Would not buy again

These dresses are a pretty style and would be great if they were made from a different material as they are so so so hard to iron that even when you’ve ironed them to death, they’re still creased and you might as well not have bothered.

Really high quality, quite a big fit but would rather it be too big than too small!

Material and style are fab. They may have recently changed the sizing as there’s a huge difference in ages 11-12 and 12-13 for my tall, slim 9yr old! I buy these every year as the others just don’t fit her well and look age appropriate. She has been able to do the buttons for a while now as they’re big enough to grip and the holes between the buttons don’t gape. These dresses cost a lot for what they are but I have to pay it to be happy sending her to school smartly dressed.

I love it is pure cotton, but it shrinks!

I buy this dress every year as it is the only pure cotton option. I wish it was organic cotton. The dress shrinks a lot! To the extent you need to go up one to two sizes. It 100% will need a thorough iron every time. I find whether line or tumble dried it is astonishingly wrinkled after washing. I wish the lace detailing was on top of the dress rather than attached to the end of the sleeve. It is pretty, but we are buying a pure cotton dress due to sensitive skin. I’m going to keep buying this as it is the only pure cotton option but the dress could use some serious tweaks. It is pretty and comfortable according to my daughter.

I usually buy uniform from Sainsbury's but when I last looked every item had been treated with teflon. I was happy to find these pure cotton dresses which also stated that they were PFA free! They do take a bit of ironing but I'd much rather that! Thank you M&S

Nice school dress but really fiddly to iron. Creases easily but looks really smart for school

Button pops open and they always looks creased!

Bought a twin pack last year from M&S, they were great. These new ones only have 3 buttons instead of 4, and the bottom one always comes undone. Once washed and ironed well still looks creased! Stick with the easy iron

Great dress, could be better as easy iron
Originally posted on marksandspencer.com (UK)
My daughter likes this as it doesn’t have a tie at the back like a lot of school summer dresses. Only downside is that it’s not easy iron.

Pure cotton is best for kids

This is one of very few options that is natural and not processed with forever chemicals. Sadly majority of people seem to demand the easy care and stain proof textiles, which are made by adding polyester and soaking fabrics in bad chemicals like teflon. This demand pushes the natural fabrics out of the market. I wish more people did research on how the micro plastics and PFAS will affect your health in the long run. Please bring on more pure cotton uniform options! I don’t mind ironing and washing the clothes, I want my kids to grow up healthy.
