Great idea, poor execution

Great idea but attaching 4 sticky seals around the paper meant I lost the first few inches as it tore the pattern off when opening the roll up.

Lovely pattern and it’s great that it’s reversible but ripped very easily

Fingers go through the paper when trying to wrap. Lovely pattern.

Which I read reviews before buying

The quality of the paper is poor. You lose the first section due to the packaging damaging the roll. And then m and s have not included the cutting lines on the back. Another product I will look elsewhere to purchase

Lovely Wrap and Labels!!!

Lovely fun patterned Christmas Paper which is sturdy and reversible in design although not advertised as so. The tags are an unusual colour but those who I have given gifts to so far have commented on how lovely they are.

Nice paper, bad closure
Originally posted on marksandspencer.com (UK)
Nice paper, the closing stickers were far more than needed wasted a lot of paper. Disappointed to find no cutting guides which are very helpful.

Great if you only want the patterned side.

Reversible, looks fabulous with patterned side but, but plain side looks creased and the pattern can be seen through it.

Not the best paper I have bought from marks, very thin and tears very easily.

The circles of tap stopping the paper unwrapping was stuck to the wrapping paper which meant I had to cut a strip off each roll

I bought several packs of various M&S Christmas Paper this year. All featured the new stickers to keep the paper on the roll. Well it didn't work - the stickers stuck to the paper and I ended up losing the first 6 inches off every roll. REALLY ANNOYING

Christmas Gift Wrapping - torn

We always use M&S Christmas gift wrapping as the quality is usually so good, that was true until I received this roll! Fantastic that the the unnecessary plastic has been removed but why did this roll have FIVE sticky tapes holding it together? Firstly the large sticky tape that had the cost & item details on it would have sufficed but no there were then FOUR totally pointless green sticky tape bindings as well. It was virtually impossible to remove these tapes - maybe my fingernails weren’t long enough & so I had to resort to using small scissors which meant that a combination of scissors & nails resulted in the paper being torn - not by much but it was frustrating that a simple thing was so difficult to open. I hope in future years that they sort this out. Actually the paper pattern is very nice although somewhat different from the usual Christmas scene. Personally I preferred it when M&S gift wrapping had lines on the reverse to help with the cutting! I would have loved to give this 5* but sadly only 3*.

Nice paper but terrible packaging

I like the paper but have wrecked the first few inches of each roll getting the stickers off the roll which hold paper in place. It’s a ridiculous design. No need for that many stickers. I have wasted much time frustratingly trying to get roll undone.

Disappointing, I buy this every year and it makes life easy with the lines on the inside of the wrap ... but this year paper is very poor quality and no lines inside which makes cutting it easy. I would never have purchased it if I had known you changed it

Shocking design to keep the paper rolled up

Awful design, you’ve placed sticky labels on the paper to keep it rolled up!!! When removing the sticky labels it rips the paper. What engineers or supply chain teams do you have working on your products, this is basics. I want a refund for the 2 products.

Poor Quality and Badly Packaged

It is commendable that M&S have tried to give us a product that uses less plastic and is recyclable, but as many have said previously the quality is very poor and the rolls are held together with five bands (which should just slide off the rolls) but they are stuck to the actual paper. Who in M&S thought this was a good idea?

Nice quality wrapping paper that doesn’t tear as soon as you look at it. The reverse side is red which is an added bonus. Good price for the length of the roll

Poor securing tags

The paper itself has a lovely pattern and has been ok for wrapping a few gifts so far, but it’s let down by the sticky securing tapes which makes the first section of paper unusable.

I have always bought my Christmas wrapping paper from M&S. The patterns and quality were always excellent... until this year! I bought two large rolls of this paper, thinking I would go back for more, if needed later. Instead, I took back one unopened roll for a refund! As many other reviewers have said, the paper was thin, and ripped easily, there were no grids on the back and then, to top it all, the paper was held together with several sticky strips that tore the paper as I tried to remove it. One thing in the papers favour, is that I liked the pattern. Sadly, if this is what we can now expect, I will have to buy my Christmas wrapping paper somewhere else in future.
